Review summary
Going through the Canal was wonderful. That is why we booked this cruise and was not disappointed. If you plan on doing this cruise make sure you book the excursion that goes through the other 2 locks it is so worth the money. There was one day that stormed which made the excursion a disappointment but was certainly not the fault of the cruise line. The food doesn't have a lot of variety nor flavor but I always found something to eat that with a little salt and pepper was ok but still not flavorful as it would be if cooked with more spices. (but this is all in a persons taste and I certainly did not leave hungry) The ship itself is in need of repairs. One the days of rain we found several yellow buckets around to catch the drips. The crew for the most part was extremely nice and helpful. The was one bar tender who used very foul language while watching a football game. I would travel on the princess again and even go through the canal again but a different ship unless the Island Princess is updated first.

Ship tip
Its a small ship so don't expect to do much shopping onboard. Going through the canal find a deck that does not have windows all around to view the locks and go very early to get your spot, some were there at 5 in the morning. If you have a balcony it is a wonderful experience right from there.
