Lovely cruise. Ship didn't feel overcrowded despite the number of passengers.

Review summary

Lovely cruise, great people. Beautiful ship. Fantastic ports of call.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
As smooth as butter. We've never had such an easy embarkation! The CPS parking was brilliant, highly recommended. Lovely staff. Easy.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
The buffet food was really very good, probably the best we've had so far, although we always struggled to get a table (we were 5). Only the vinaigrette sauce is missing. The quality of the food served in main dining room & the chefs table was disappointing compared to MSC & Costa (we have a French palate). We went to the Olive Grove: the starters & pizzas & desserts were excellent. The main meat dishes were really not good, including the tajine (supplement). We loved the Quays. The drinks on-board were great. Free water in all restaurants too! Excellent choice of beers & wine.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
The pool & gym were great. Very little on-board activities otherwise.

Entertainment

3 out of 5
Didn't like the speaker Andy Baker & too political to have on a cruise ship. Didn't like the way you have to reserve all the evening venues. Most were fully booked by the first evening of our cruise. We loved the Club House & the fantastic house band that played there (3-4 evenings?). Shame they only played for 1/2 hour each time (at 9pm, then 10pm then 11pm). We managed to dance during those brief moments. The rest of the ship lacked musicians, I never saw the piano in the atrium get used. In the theatre the Flyrights were brilliant, fantastic. The other shows weren't to our liking, including the Take That musical, which we found dreadful, but other passengers loved it.

Children's Programs

5 out of 5
Definitely the best we've ever had on a cruise ship.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Lovely, kind staff. They couldn't do more for us.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Beautiful ship. Roomy cabins.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Beautiful, spacious inside cabins. Well equipped & designed.

Ship tip

Reserve on-board venues as soon as possible.

Southampton (London), England

Easy driving & port access.

Olden, Norway

5 out of 5
The best port of call. We went to the Briksdal Glacier with Olden adventures. Stunningly beautiful.

Haugesund

5 out of 5
We weren't expecting much, but the town is pretty. We went to the digital Viking museum, which is very well done & I would highly recommend.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
The best disembarking we've experienced so far, coupled with the CPS parking.

We were on the same cruise. Was looking forward to the tagine in Olive Grove and like you thought it poor especially as it had a supplement. Limelight with Kerry Ellis was our highlight entertainment wise. Scenery was stunning. We had great weather that week
