Review summary

We enjoy Oceania and have booked another cruise, but the size of this ship and the less than excellent service in the main dining room were in stark contrast to our earlier voyages.

4 out of 5
There was a Coast Guard inspection the morning of the embarkation that delayed entrance into the cabins - it would have been helpful if the cruise line provided a notice of same so that we did not have to sit and wait two and a half hours after boarding

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
While the specialty restaurants were grand and the buffets wonderful, the service in the main dining room was far less prompt and efficient than on prior trips on Oceania. Additionally, it appeared that there was an attempt to "over-gourmet" some of the entrees with not too pleasing results.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
All were just fine

4 out of 5
We don't expect grand shows when we travel on Oceania and they did not disappoint. The show/dance band was outstanding.

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
All get high marks, except those in the main dining room.

Ship Quality

Cabin / Stateroom

3 out of 5
The bathroom was very small and the shower even much smaller to the point of discomfort. The design of the room itself needs attention - one had to contort the body to open the cabinet door to reach the refuse bucket.

Ship tip

If you have sailed before on one of the bigger ships from Oceania, be prepared for the stark differences in the size of the cabins, elevators, etc.
