We love Royal Carribean as a rule. Handling 4000 people can't be easy. We are booked on an Alaskan cruise next August. We have learned a lot about traveling as a senior with issues. We will adjust our activity accordingly.
Embarkation

Very smooth and efficient, especially since we needed wheelchairs.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
5 out of 5
We didn't care much for the buffets. It was difficult to get around since we have mobility issues. However, the main dining room was wonderful. The food choices and quality were very good and the service couldn't have been better. Bravo!
Onboard Activities
3 out of 5
We used the Solarium pool area and it was nice and free of children. The pool water was quite chilly and my husband wouldn't use it.
Entertainment
5 out of 5
We enjoyed "Grease" and the piano music in the bars. The big band music on the Promenade was exceptional.
Service and Staff

Small but nicely laid out. Everything we needed was there.
Ship tip
If you need to use a scooter to get around, make sure they have all the correct information concerning excursions. We were told we could take the scooter on the boat to Blue Lagoon adult beach, but when we got to the boat we were told they couldn't get us on because the tide was out and there was no one to lift the scooter onto the ramp. We were sent back to the ship and issued a refund. Also, getting onto the elevators was sometimes difficult because the doors close very quickly.
This was the port we couldn't go on our excursion because they told us we could take our scooters on the boat, and when we got to the boat they couldn't get us on. They sent us back and gave us a refund. Disappointing.
Again, we had difficulty with the scooters. They said there was no transport for them. We found out later that was not true. Without the scooters we had a very limited area to visit.
We had to use the wheelchair service. The people were very helpful, but again there was a miscommunication. They took us across the street to "E1". They said that's where VIP would pick us up. They left us on the bench with our luggage and took the wheelchairs. We were actually supposed to be at "G9" with everyone else. We had to drag our suitcases back across the street and down the block. This was no easy for people with mobility issues. It seems there is a lot of misinformation and communication problems.
