Review summary

Overall- not a cruise I would like to take again. Save your money and upgrade to celebrity.

Embarkation

4 out of 5
Embarkation was easy, even with all the Covid protocols

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

1 out of 5
All liquor was watered down. A waiter actually told me that they water down the bottles and to get a decent drink you need to tip in cash. The specialty restaurants were not special. Food was so so. I expected a lot better than what was available. I had to send my steak and daughter’s lobster back. We paid extra for the lobster and didn’t even get the claws. Very little gluten-free or healthy options. Great food if you like burgers and pizza, but I do not feed my kids junk.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
Lots of water activities for kids. Not so many activities for adults though

Entertainment

2 out of 5
Musicians were good but onboard entertainment was close to non-existent.

Children's Programs

2 out of 5
Not enough staff to accommodate the number of kids on board

Service and Staff

2 out of 5
Not enough staff to accommodate guests. Could never find a waiter. Guest services was just plain rude

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
The ship was clean, however only saw someone cleaning common areas per Covid protocol once the whole trip. Was a little disturbing. Generally I think the ship was understaffed. The ship needs some upkeep. Seems to be a bit weathered and moldy

Cabin / Stateroom

1 out of 5
Horribly small!! This was not the room I actually booked. They actually made a mistake in my booking and had to find me another room. It must have been the smallest on the ship.

Ship tip

Don’t expect decent food or service. If you want a better experience then pay extra for Celebrity. Overall my 7 year old had a good time, my 14 year old and myself- not so much

Ports of call

Nassau, Bahamas

5 out of 5
They have the same excursion choices on every cruise. They need to change it up. The dolphin swim was excellent though!

Perfect Day At Coco Cay, Bahamas

4 out of 5
Rented a cabana and it was well worth it. Actually lunch was the best meal of the trip.

Disembarkation

1 out of 5
Horrible experience!! My stateroom attendant did not deliver any of my letters or communication and we ended up having to carry 5 bags off by hand. There was no communication on groups called to leave the ship. A bit of a mess.

Sorry for your difficulties i guess its all subjective because I didn't have any issues. All the staff I encountered throughout the ship was amazing. MDR was adequate and other food options were great. It was my 5th cruise with royal. 1 bad experience shouldn't keep you from doing another royal cruise but to each its own

I can't imagine what torture it would be for my kids if not allowed to eat pizza, hamburgers, ice cream "junk" on a cruise.
