Review summary

Price of drinks spoilt it for us, so won't be doing RCI again, especially as P&O and other lines include gratuities and some include drinks in the the total price, which aren't any more expensive that RCI

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Excellent. Signing the sea pass before leaving made a very easy embarcation

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
We did anytime timing which was good. Pity the same couldn't be said about the food. So often, especially meat dishes were less than hot, and several times we sent starters and mains back because they were only like warm. Windjammer was excellent with good variety and hot. We don't do speciality restaurants. Drinks are horrendously overpriced. Cheapest wine is $13 for a small rubbishy glass. Cocktails at $14 dollars are a joke. Bet is about $, 7-8 a pint. We aren't big drinkers so it's not with buying the overpriced drinks packages.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
These are as good as they always are, but unfortunately couldn't participate much due to it being windy and cold at times

Entertainment

3 out of 5
Musicians around the ship we quite good but the shows were so so. Once upon a time is good as is grease, but the other production shows not very good. Tenors unlimited excellent but the juggle/ comedian was quite frankly rubbish with ltd walking out. He did a"trick" of eventually after a lot of taking pulled a table cloth of stable with cups etc on it,but it was so pathetic you could see the items were magnetised to a metal table. His juggling was just about ok. Gary Lovinni the violinist was ok, nothing more. Sometimes instead of production shows, I've shows were put on. But those same shows have been running for several years now, so unless you're a new cruiser you've probably seen them already. Phil walker was an ok comedian in his late night show, but I found his fat shaming of overweight people a bit distasteful

Glad you enjoyed your cruise

The 'other' cruise lines give-away free stuff to try and get people to book cruises on inferior ships with sub-par service

That's a great idea next time I book a cruise I will ask for 3 acholic drinks on Saturday, 5 on Sunday and so on... That way I will not be ripped off. Is this really your top tip you book a cruise A) for a when it fits in with your life B) where the ship happens to be going C) the best company that's suits your budget... You should not have to pay over the top for drinks, I expect a mark up as you are a captive audience but you must admit these prices on RC are ridiculously over priced...

You pick a cruise because of value for money. You shouldn't be ripped off for drinks. Of course you don't pick a cruise for drinks. Are you that stupid to suggest you do?

You are supposed to choose whatever options you want including gratitues and beverages when you book the cruise. That way you don't pay for what you don't use. Too bad you didn't. There are cheaper cruises. Royal Caribbean is not a cheap company but it costs much less than Disney and has more options than most lines.

Quite correct, the prices are overpriced and like me if you feel you are being ripped off it leaves a bad feeling... The prices are like that so even if you are a moderate drinker you are still better of getting the drinks package and that ties you into a lot of extra money... On P&O the prices are reasonable... I do not have any issues with tips as I find majority of the staff are great...

It’s too bad you pick a cruise line for the drinking. Ridiculous
