Review summary

The reason we picked this particular cruise was because of the Cherbourg port and the d-day tour. We were already in london for several days prior. We really enjoyed it and would cruise out of Southampton again.

We were scheduled for the late seating at 8:30 each night in the dining room. We had a table for two which we requested. The food was good, not extraordinary. The service was very slow. The third and final night we ate at Izumi Hibachi. The food was very good. Our reservation was for 8:30 but we didn’t start eating the appetizer until 9:30. We eat at hibachi restaurants at home and I understand the show is part of the experience but it was just a little too long.

The “Strings” ice show was fantastic. We were blown away by this beautifully choreographed show.

The size of the cabin was satisfactory and the bed was very comfortable.

Very quaint city with cobble stone streets. It was very walkable. We did the ship’s tour which was guided in the morning and free time in the afternoon. We did a tour of the de maan brewery. Lots of narrow, steep steps but beautiful view of the city from the roof and a beer is included in the tour.

We did a private d-day full day tour with a guide booked through Tours by locals. It was excellent.
