Review summary

We love cruising with Royal Caribbean and having leveled up to a Star Class Suite this time just made this trip even more incredible. We very much enjoyed our Genie Stepan and the level of service be provided. Our Suite was beautiful and felt like home. We loved spending time on our spacious balcony and very much enjoyed dining at all of the signature restaurants. All of the shows and entertainment staff were incredible. All of the staff on Harmony of the Seas are so nice and so hard working we definitely reccomend Royal Caribbean to all of our friends and family

Embarkation

We Leveled up just days before our cruise to a Star Class Suite. This made getting on the ship a breeze, we had a staff member meet and greet us and walked us thru the whole process until we got on the ship with our Genie.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5

Chops Grille

4 out of 5

This is the signature restaurant we thought we would like the most ,but it actually was our least favorite. We had a family lunch here one afternoon and our kids had dinner here another night, after those two we actually took this off the agenda for a family dinner. The food was ok, but it actually wasn't any better than what we had in the coastal kitchen or the main dining room in the past.

Coastal Kitchen

4 out of 5

Our service in the Coastal Kitchen was always great. The view is nice from the restaurant and the lounge area especially in the evenings. The food was good but to us didn't seem any better than what we were use to in the Main dining room on previous trips.

Wonderland

5 out of 5

The theming is great the restaurant is beautiful. Our server was great, she insisted on bringing us one of everything on the menu and then more of our favorites. We already knew we loved the Mad Hatters Purple Potted Shrimp as our Genie has sent them to our room twice! The presentation here was amazing. The food is served family style and the portions are small. If you are a picky eater this isn't for you. If you are open to trying new things definitely give it at try it is worth it for the experience. The food was different, there were several things on the menu we didn't like and that was ok. There were a few things we were surprised we liked. If you find something you like don't be afraid to ask for more. The drinks were great the White Rabbit- Rita was probably my favorite I had on the trip! The Cheshire Cat Cosmo was also yummy.

Jamie's Italian by Jamie Oliver

5 out of 5

Jamie's turned out to be our favorite restaurant on the ship. We had dinner there twice and wished we could have had it again. All of the appetizers were delicious! The pasta's were nice. The short rib and the lamb chops were by far the best on the ship!! When they say their Lamb Chops are better than chops believe them, the staff knows! Both dishes were so delicious we all ordered them again for dinner both nights.

Izumi

5 out of 5

We were so fortunate that our Genie could get us into this our first night. We weren't sure we would love this as much as we did but the entertainment and the food was just amazing! It was ranked amongst all 4 of us on the trip as #1 meal onboard. Highly reccomend the tenderloin and tiger shrimp! If you are a chocolate lover the lava cake is incredible. We wished we could have ate here again! If you get a chance to book Izumi!! You won't regret it!

150 Central Park

5 out of 5

This is a beautiful restaurant with a great atmosphere. We weren't thrilled about the appetizer selection at this restaurant but the entree and dessert made up for it. We ate here 2 nights and had Christian (she was amazing & such a bubbly personality). The tenderloin was the best we had on the ship and the fried cheesecake was amazing. Definitely try their signature drink made table side!

Bionic Bar

3 out of 5

So the concept is really cool and it is a really fun experience but these were the worst 2 drinks we have ever had. Maybe we chose wrong but both drinks taste like watered down liquor and didn't possess my of the other flavoring they were supposed to have.

Johnny Rockets

5 out of 5

We loved breakfast here and the milkshakes.

Sorrentos

5 out of 5

The pizza here is great, multiple times we grabbed a slice in between meals and twice we had it sent to our room after we came back aboard from port.

Trellis Bar

5 out of 5

Aside from the Suite Lounge we found some of the best most consistent drinks made here. It also gets points for being located in the middle of central Park

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
We love the dance classes and dance parties onboard those are always a great time for everyone! Highly recommend attending! I will review alot of the activities individually but a few not listed individually are The Abyss, It was a great time and I'm glad we did it, I do feel like it needs a little warning as someone who doesn't like heights me and my husband had a little surprise when we got to the top and the platform had a glass floor ( not expecting that & did not like that part.) It also looks very cool lit up at night. The water slides, the lines are long but all but the green one moves pretty fast. Some of them look like they go slow but don't be fooled after that first turn, they speed up. The green one is kind of flawed in that most everyone gets stuck in the "bowl" and had to scoot themselves on down. Still good fun tho.

Harmony Dunes

4 out of 5

There were wipes and sanitizer available for us and signs encouraging ppl to do so before and after. I saw very few ppl doing it but I appreciated them being there. It was good thinking on their part. We played the first day and weren't able to find balls of different colors for the 4 in our party. Actually there wasn't many balls available at the time. Later upon walking around the course there was a lot of balls just left in the little gutter beside the course. It's a shame people won't just pick up after themselves( how hard is it to return your ball). We found it incredibly hard to play with the foam balls and none of us did very well ( but we understand why they aren't real golf balls) we rarely could get the ball to go thru the obstacles like they should they just rolled right back out. I think the worst part was the people. This is to no fault of Royal Caribbean.... Some Ppl are just not courteous. We couldn't enjoy and actually play thru our game because people behind us were starting on our holes before we finished on them which lead to us just being rushed thru.

Flowrider

5 out of 5

The staff at the flowriders are great. The guys in our group had a lot of fun up here! The ladies enjoyed just watching.

Entertainment

5 out of 5

Aquatheater

5 out of 5

Always great things to do at the Aquatheater. The Aqua Show is always amazing I reccomend doing it on the first night as it does run into weather and technical issues frequently! We also watched the performers practicing for a new show one afternoon. They showed a family movie one evening and we attended a 70's dance party that was a blast one night!

Rock Climbing Wall

3 out of 5

Couldn't find this under " onboard activities" but I am not sure what the issue was on this cruise because our last one both walls were going all day long. This time only one wall was open which made the lines ridiculously long. We came back from port early one day thinking this would be our chance and after waiting in line for a little more than 30 mins in the blazing sun and the line never moving we abandoned the idea. Some people said they had been waiting an hour and had barely moved. Not sure what the issue was.

Card Room

5 out of 5

We peeked in here one day and there was one couple playing chess at that time. Other times I saw a family playing a game. If you have some down time this definitely could be a neat little hangout spot for anyone who likes cards or games.

On Air Club

5 out of 5

This should be under entertainment but couldn't find it on that menu. There was always a lot of fun activities going on here. This venue really needs to be bigger as it is always packed out and people tend to camp out very early for events particularly karaoke. Go early unless you don't mind to stand elbow to elbow with others or sit on the floor. Bar service is always timely here especially considering the crowd.

Center Ice Rink

4 out of 5

Couldn't find this venue under "onboard activities"....The open skate was very crowded and short only 20 mins so if you don't skate by the time you got the hang of it it was over. I think they need to have more sessions and less people on the ice at one time would make this more fun.

Central Park

5 out of 5

We just love Central Park, hosted some of our favorite restaurants and was a nice peaceful change to the rest of the ship. Beautiful day and night, nice place to just sit and relax. The Bar there had some of the best most consistent drinks on the ship.

Dazzles

5 out of 5

Couldn't locate under "entertainment venues" Beautiful venue , always has great service, and a unique atmosphere. Definitely mark at least 1 event here on your to do list.

Royal Theater

5 out of 5

Always great fun going on. We loved Grease, the Headliner Bryan Cheatham, the adult comedy show and The love and marriage game show !

Solarium

3 out of 5

This area would be much better if it had a pool like some of the other ships. Or if the hot tubs stayed opened later once it cooled down in the evenings.

Studio B

5 out of 5

Couldn't locate the venue under "entertainment" but this is my Review of Studio BDon't Miss the Ice Show! We watched 1887 and it's definitely not one to miss! The skill level of the performers and what they can do on such a small rink of ice is absolutely Incredible! We also attended Battle of the Sexes which was a very fun event in Studio B.

AquaTheater

5 out of 5

Wrote my original review under the wrong category.

We loved the atmosphere here and the service was always quick

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Our Genie Stepan was amazing, such a warm and bubbly personality. He thought of everything ,and had everything perfectly planned even things we didn't ask for. My family enjoyed getting to know him over the course of our trip and I will truly miss his warm & friendly greetings. Our room attendants Ikadek & Christian did an amazing job and kept everything perfect and stocked we never had to ask for anything, they just knew exactly what to do and always had it all taken care of. Everyone who attended to us was very friendly and met or exceeded our expectations! Cruise ship workers are some of the hardest working people to exist, and the fact that they now do it all day in a mask, and do it so fast and efficiently all while maintaining a friendly demeanor is amazing. It really is! Please when you cruise show your thanks to this amazing crew!

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
This is a big ship, bring comfortable shoes and patience. We were on the 17th floor and sometimes it could take as much as 8 mins to get down to the lower entertainment decks. Aside from the pool deck area everything on the ship was spotless all the time. The pool deck area was just overcrowded and so many people would bring multiple plates of food and just leave them on the pool loungers and piled up on tables and the ground and sometimes the staff just couldn't keep up in this area. We tend to avoid the pools because of the overcrowding of people. On multiple occasions we saw people elbow to elbow in the pool. That's just not our idea of a good time. Aside from that area the ship was well maintained and kept spotless. Several times throughout the day staff were seen thoroughly cleaning different areas. I saw several hand washing stations throughout the ship. Every corner you turned around had sanitizing stations. And some areas had sanitizing wipes available as well to wipe things down with. I was very impressed at how clean the public restrooms were on the ship. Unless you went into the stall right after someone came out , Everytime I went into the restroom not only was it clean but the toilet paper and paper towels had been folded. It's impressive how efficient they are because only once did I see an attendant in there doing so. If I had one complaint on cleanliness it would be more a smell in "The Attic" first night at the comedy show I thought it was someone sitting next to us . Until we went back the next night to the night club. It honestly smells like vomit, you don't notice it when you first walk in but the longer you stay and the closer you are the to actual bar the worse the smell gets. The second night several people commented on it and some were saying is was whatever they cleaned the bar top with that's why it was worse at the bar but I don't know that I believe that. If so that's even more concerning, no cleaning solution or rag should smell like vomit.

Cabin / Stateroom

Our Suite had a modern look and beautifully decorated. The floor to ceiling windows made for an incredible view but did allow alot of heat in during the day if the curtains were open ( the ac units did a decent job of keeping up tho). The patio was huge featured a lounger bed, several loungers and chairs and the full size table was the perfect place to have breakfast every morning! The upstairs curtain allowed for a little privacy. Both floors had seated vanity areas with lighted mirrors, Such a huge perk if you have more than one female in the room. The upstairs bathroom had a full shower with a good sized tub & downstairs featured a double headed full size shower. There was lots of space and lots and lots of storage.

Ports of call

Falmouth, Jamaica

We did a private tour with a private driver in Jamaica. He was very nice and very informative. He took us to Dunn River Falls and then we just did some shopping. The falls were a unique experience and I am glad we did them once, I wouldn't return tho. It was very crowded and I felt very uncomfortable at the end as you have the walk thru a market to exit and they completely split all four of us up pulling us in different directions to buy things. I was very uncomfortable as they kept trying to pull me away from my daughter someone trying to pull her in another direction and my husband in another. We were trying to be polite and kept saying no thank you , which seemed the make some of them mad. We did not have any money on us as our driver instructed us to leave it in the vehicle. They go us any way by asking questions like our names and such and carving them into little wooden statues as they followed us all the way out of the park and into the parking lot to our vehicle. Then of course we had to buy the items they just carved our names into.

Perfect Day At Coco Cay, Bahamas

5 out of 5
We booked an Overwater Cabana at the Beach Club. It was an amazing quiet spot. The water was calm, there was an abundance of marine life around our cabana including , a stingray, 2 lemon sharks, starfish, and alot of different types of fish. The lifeguards were friendly and informative about the marine life. The Cabana had so many perks and was definitely worth the Splurge. Our attendant was friendly and efficient, and our lunch and service were up to par. The drinks came a little watered down but it was a hot day outside and they were being delivered to us, so we didn't complain too much. My husband and I didn't leave the cabana but our adult kids also enjoyed the infinity pool. It definitely made for a Perfect Day, we didn't want to leave.

Nassau, Bahamas

We did the Blue Lagoon Dolphin Swim at this port. Our trainer Zandrea was amazing and we loved our Swim with Treasure. The Island was pretty and nice it seems really crowded and it is right at the beginning. It if you keep going past the building with the lunch the chairs, and water are almost empty on the other end. My only complaint about this is online when we booked it seemed as if we could catch a boat back to the ship at any time as there was multiple times they were running. So we thought we could dolphin swim and enjoy the beach till time to go back to the ship. This was not the case, we arrived at 9:30 our dolphin swim was at 10:00 and the boat left to take us back at 12:30. We were told we had to take the boat with our assigned time and color wristband back and couldn't catch another.

Very easy port, cocoa beach is very close and also not far from all the you're major attractions such as Disney & Universal.

Labadee (Cruise Line Private Island)

4 out of 5
This was our second time visiting the island. We had a cabana on Barefoot Beach and that part was nice. We had some issues with our excursion on this island as we had booked it on the RC app and our time had us at 9:30 for a Jet Ski tour. The night before Our Genie informed the gangway would open at 10am and assured us he would get us off ASAP, and wasn't sure why RC booked us a time for the tour before we couldn't get off. We met with our Genie at 9:30 and even tho the announcement was not made yet we could leave the ship we got off around 9:45 and others were off as well. He assured us it would be fine and the tour would understand and accommodate us and wanted to walk us and another family to our cabana area and then we headed to the jet ski tour. We were told because we were late we wouldn't get to go on that tour and the only one available was at 2:45. I specifically asked because I worried about time, what time would We be finished with the tour he assured me we would be done by 3:30. Perfect all aboard was at 4:30, we could leave our stuff in our cabana and return to head back to the boat at 4:00. We were also instructed we couldn't drink until after the tour. No big deal we enjoyed our beach morning our lunch and headed to the Jet Ski tour at 2:30. I personally Hated the jet ski tour our jet ski broke down before the tour ever started and that should have been my sign. I have bruises! I don't know if it was because of the size difference of me and my husband and us riding together or what but it absolutely beat me to death, I have bruises on the inner and backs of my thighs, my butt and was so sore the next day. Nothing like riding a jet ski on the lake! It was like Bull riding only your are hanging on for dear life. I found it frightening, painful, it seemed dangerous and I did not have fun at all and immediately wanted it to end but that's not an option in the middle of the ocean. I would have had a much better time This was no fault of the tour guides as most others seemed to enjoy it, a few were like myself and didnt enjoy the experience as much. It just was not for me, I absolutely hated it. I only enjoyed the spots we were stopped and given information about the rest of the island. What did upset me tho was when I finally return to shore and look at the time it is 4:20 ( not 3:30) our ship was suppose to be leaving in 10 mins. We still had all of our stuff at our cabana and as far as itinerary was concerned we were on the 10:00 jet ski tour. I was on the verge of a full blown panic attack. I am always back on the ship well before time and had they told me I would finish at 4:20 I would have told them to forget it, that I wasn't doing it. If they had told me 4:00 even at the very least I would have packed up all of my items and rented a locker so I would have been right there ready to go with all of our stuff. I don't know how they got their timing so off on everything that day but I hope that doesn't happen on a daily basis. I can say our Cabana attend Ronald was so nice and had our stuff gathered up and was sitting with it waiting on us to return to retrieve it.

Star Class made this a breeze. We. Kept our luggage with us till breakfast , then as we were escorted down , it was conveniently waiting on us right around the corner after we got off the ship.
