Very disappointed in lack of customer service. Clearly does not measure up to such a beautiful ship.
Embarkation

We arrived at our check in time, had to stand outside in the heat for over 1.5 hours. No water , no ability to sit. This is something that should never happen with seniors. My husband is 80 years old and he was so I’ll once we were finally boarded he could barely function for the rest of the day and evening.

The ships process for making advanced reservations sounds good in theory, however there were no ship staff to manage the process and consequently we arrived for each of our “reservations” the shows were already full! We never saw one show!
Children's Programs
Duh, no kids!
Service and Staff

Our dining room staff and room steward were excellent ! I unfortunately cannot say the same thing about other personnel. The shore excursion staff were less than helpful. The guest service staff were condescending when I tried to find some Tylenol. In St. Maarten upon return to the ship I fell after arriving to check-in onboard. One of the staff helped me up. At the time I appeared to be ok. I never received any communication from anyone in management to follow up . The next morning when I woke up I was in severe pain so I went to the medical office in hope of finding Tylenol . There was no one from the medical office to help me. I went back up to guest services who advised me they can no longer provide Tylenol without a visit to the doctor. They sent me back down to the medical office. Long story short, wound up getting X-rays and EKG. And then I got Tylenol.

Ship tip
Arrive at Royal Theatre hours before your “reservation”!
Did not do any excursion. The walk from the gangway to the area to get water taxi was so far. Would suggest for elderly people to have frequent reliable tram to take them to water taxi area and return back to ship.
Well sadly cruising may not be a great fit for you and hubby anymore unless you have a scooter of some sort. Always gonna be walking involved. As for reserving shows my Navy friend is right, you can’t show up 5 minutes before it and expect to get in. I’d think after it happened once you’d have come earlier the next time. They are trying to accommodate 6,000 people and if you’re not there with 10 minutes to start then they will fill in those seats. Lesson learned on packing otc meds for any vacation. We always do. I’m sorry you took a fall however if they helped you up, you said you were fine, I’m not sure why you’d expect the staff to “follow up”
It sounds like you didnt do any research before booking an Oasis class ship. These are huge ships and you need to walk a LOT... If your bot in the physical shape to handle that, then its up to you to make arrangements to deal with it... aka scooter or wheel chair. On everyship, you need to arrive for shows early.. especially on the bigger ships. We always arrive 30min before any show. They start letting non-reserved people in 10 min before the show, and the shows fill up quickly. Again... a little pre-cruise research goes a long ways. As for tylenol.. they sell basic meds and toiletries in the vending machines by the Arcade on deck 15 before the sports deck. Once again... pre-cruise research and exploring the ship day one would have solved that problem as well. Not to mention, what person doesnt bring basic meds with them on vacation??? Hell I bring a basic emergency medical kit... meds, bandages, antibiotic creme, anti itch creme, etc. In my camelbak backpack with 3L of icewater. It goes with us everywhere!
