Review summary

For this cruise, the ship was our destination, not any of the specific ports of call. This is a wonderful ship overall, and I would highly recommend to anyone wishing to cruise.

Embarkation

3 out of 5
The cruise port was crowded ... no surprise there. It was the usual boarding experience. It’s never fun to wait in one of those hot, long, crowded lines after just getting off of an airplane.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
The dining room food was nothing spectacular. We were assigned to My Time dining ... not by our choice. Staff in the main dining room was great. We booked dinner at two restaurants while on board: Chops and Jaimie Oliver’s Italian Restaurant. Chops was great, as it always is. We were expecting more at Jamie’s ... but it was just so so ... not sure I’d ever book there again.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
Lots of onboard activities. There was certainly no reason to be bored on this ship.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Did the slide twice ... the dry slide, not the water slide. It was great. Did the Rubicon room ... if you like puzzles, you’ll like this activity.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Staff was helpful when needed.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Ship was clean and well laid out.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
Cabin was nice but the cabin service was a little lacking. The soap/shampoo dispenser was broken off of the wall and we had to ask for shampoo samples. With no shampoo dispenser, these should have been automatically provided. We are diamond Plus status level and no bath robes were proved for this trip.

Ports of call

Ft. Lauderdale (Port Everglades), Florida

3 out of 5

Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas

3 out of 5
Not a very exciting port.

San Juan, Puerto Rico

4 out of 5
Also not a very exciting port ... I think they were still recovering from hurricane Maria.

Labadee (Cruise Line Private Island)

3 out of 5
Did not get off the ship at this port.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Disembarkation was quick and smooth. We used the luggage valet service which is worth every penny!

Thanks! We thought the abyss was the water slide. So, it's just a slide. Good to know.
