Review summary

Overall we had a great time. We've been on Royal Caribbean several times and have always been pleased with their cruises.

Embarkation

4 out of 5
Embarkation was a simple and easy process.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Overall all the food was good. Some dishes were a little bland, but others were very good. The café in the Central Park area was very good with fresh salads and sandwiches for lunch. We only ate at one specialty restaurant, Jonny Rockets, which was very good for the price. We ate at the main dining room every night except once. The service was very good with the exception of the first night. That evening the service was very slow. Additionally, we were celebrating my wife's birthday that evening (which the staff was aware of) and steak we ordered for her (off of the section of the menu you pay for) was over 15 mins late coming out after the rest of the tables food. The staff was apologetic about it and discounted it 30%, but even after it arrived it was not cooked right and the taste wasn't that great. Unfortunately by that point it pretty much ruined the her birthday dinner experience.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
The activities were fun. We tried pretty much all of the activities and enjoyed them all.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
We saw the outdoor performance at the aqua-theater which was a combination of acrobatics and high diving. It was very entertaining! We also saw two of the ice skating shows and were very impressed with both of them. The level of theatrics and skating itself was very impressive, even though I wouldn't really consider myself an ice skating fan. I would definitely go back and see another show by that cast.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Our room steward, Eniko, was extremely good! She was very helpful, engaging and friendly when we spoke with her and went out of her way a couple of times to help us a some special needs!

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
We were impressed at how clean the ship was, including some of the common areas and restrooms. Every day we saw many crew members cleaning various areas and there were hand sanitizer stations throughout the ship.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5

Ship tip

Not surprising given the size of the ship, but there were a lot of people on the ship. Having a cabin on a floor close to where you spend the bulk of your time can help save time if you can take the stairs up or down a flight VS having to wait on one of the elevators.

Ports of call

Ft. Lauderdale (Port Everglades), Florida

4 out of 5
Didn't spend much time here or do anything in the city, but the drive to find and get into the port was easy.

Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas

3 out of 5
We visited downtown and hit some of the shops, but weren't overly impressed.

San Juan, Puerto Rico

5 out of 5
Old San Juan was a beautiful city. We walked around on our own and also explored the old fort on our own.

Labadee (Cruise Line Private Island)

4 out of 5
The beach was nice and BBQ lunch was good. Depending on which part of the beach you were at, it got very rocky just in or near the water. I would recommend some sort of water shoes.

Disembarkation

4 out of 5
Given the amount of people disembarking it was a pretty smooth and quick process.
