Review summary

We were originally scheduled to go to St Marteen and Puerto Rico but due to the Hurricanes we had to be rerouted. I would not have chosen Nassau or Jamaica but that's okay. The cruise itself was wonderful and we are already planning our next cruise. We met some very nice people and made some new friends. The ship itself was more than we expected and had so much to do and see. The entertainment was great, and the food was very good. We will be sailing on the Harmony again. This was our first cruise and definitely will not be our last.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Our embarkation time was set for 12:30, but we arrived at 11:00. We never had to wait in a line, from the time we left our luggage to the time we were on board was approximately 15 minutes. Everyone was extremely friendly and helpful. Arrive early to avoid the lines, this gives you time to check out the ship.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
We were set up for 6:00 in the main dining room and there were 10 of us at the table. We only ate in the main dining room twice for dinner due to the fact it took too long for our meal and we had shows scheduled. I am sure the long dinner time was due to the number in our party with that said the food was good. We mainly ate at the Windjammers where there was a great variety for all in our group and the food was very good. The Solarium Bistro for breakfast once which was just okay. Park Cafe has great salads. Sorrentos pizza was also good.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
Fitness center has anything you need but I truly enjoyed the walking track around the ship which offers areas you can sit and relax where not a lot of people are.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
We seen the show at the Aqua Theater on the first night but they had some technical problems so we left. Aside from that the other shows were good. The comedians are hilarious, Columbus the musical was good, the Jazz was great. But, we also enjoyed the Karaoke we went 3 times. The activities on the Royal Promenade in the evening was great. There is so much to do I suggest you really look over the daily planner to see what you really want to do.Make sure to check out the Music and Dancing section, it's great to go and just listen to the music. We found out to enjoy all the evening activities after being in the sun all day, a nap in the afternoon was a must!

Children's Programs

We had no children with us.

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
Everyone on the ship was great! Our room steward was wonderful, each time we went to our room and left when we came back the room had been cleaned up. The staff is very helpful and a lot of fun. My only complaint of any staff would have to be in the Spa. I had a hot stone massage which was wonderful but, unfortunately the staff REALLY tries to sell you different lotions and oils which kind of takes away from the relaxing massage. I would have had another massage before we got back but I did not want to have to deal with the sales pitches.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
This was our first cruise and this has sold us on cruising. The ship is great and extremely clean. I was truly surprised because with over 6000 people on board I expected it to be messy but, they do a great job with keeping everything cleaned and organized.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
We had a junior suite which was very big and roomy. We had a walk in closet, a bathtub as well as shower and an extra large balcony. Our daughter had a regular balcony room. After comparing the rooms, her room was not as large as our but still big enough. We have decided next time we will just get a regular balcony room. We did not use the bathtub just the shower, there were still 2 chairs on the balcony and we really didn't need that big of a closet. Before our cruise we thought we would spend more time in our cabin but, we spent very little time in the cabin. The junior suite would be great for someone who does spend a bit of time in the cabin but, for us the larger size was not necessary. This was our first cruise and we were told by a lot of people the cabins were extremely small but, those were for other cruise lines so we thought it would be the same for all cruise lines.

Ship tip

My advice to anyone sailing Harmony is to definitely look over your Cruise Compass completely and take highlighters. There is so much to do and see you will not do it all in 7 days, but don't make your cruise about doing as much as possible remember to relax. Also, just because you go to a port it doesn't mean you have to get off the ship.

Ports of call

Ft. Lauderdale (Port Everglades), Florida

4 out of 5
We did an airboat excursion which was pretty neat.

Nassau, Bahamas

3 out of 5
We did the blue lagoon dolphin swim which was fantastic! I would definitely recommend this to anyone who wants to swim with the dolphins. The excursion would get 5 stars! Nassau itself we did not like. We understand that the tourists are how the people in Nassau make a living but it was just too pushy for us

Falmouth, Jamaica

3 out of 5
We took a trolley tour which was very informative and interesting. Our guide was great. As for the port itself we did not like it.

Labadee (Cruise Line Private Island)

5 out of 5
Labadee has so much to offer. We did the Labadee Snorkel Safari which was GREAT! You go out on a double decker catamaran, the crew are wonderful. They are extremely friendly and funny. The captain took us out on the snorkeling tour and showed us different kinds of coral and sea life. I would recommend this to anyone who wants to snorkel. After this we went to the market for some shopping while waiting to do the Dragons Breathe. Unfortunately I never got to do the zipline as I overheated and had to return to the ship. Next time!

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Everything was very smooth and it didn't really take too long once you left the ship.

yes I was kind of upset that we got rerouted as well. I didn't want to go back to Nassau but would've loved to go to Jamaica instead of Mexico .
