Review summary

We knew going into this cruise that it may not be the best fit for our teens but we decided to give it a try. We all had fun but my kids like Carnival better - seemed to be a much livelier crowd :)

Embarkation

3 out of 5
Had to stand in line for quite awhile to get our Sea Pass Cards

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Main dining room was fun and food was great. Windjammer wasn't bad but the Park Café left a lot to be desired.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
Everything closed up so early! We wanted to play Corn Hole with the family on a beautiful evening on the main deck but had to put it all away around 10 for the crew to clean the deck. It was a like a ghost town on the decks after 9pm or so. Everyone went to bed! Our teens were able to hang out in the Solarium hot tubs until late so that was nice.

Entertainment

3 out of 5
Comedy shows were so/so, but the live band was great as well as some of the other shows.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Everyone was so attentive and went out of their way to make sure everyone had a nice time.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
It's a small ship but it is pretty and everything was very clean. The lower decks did seem to have a strange sewage smell but I wasn't really bothered by it.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Room was clean and size was fine for us.

Ship tip

We had a great time but if you're planning a winter cruise on the Grandeur with teens you may want to think twice. The ship for this time of year is more geared to an older crowd.

Ports of call

Charleston, South Carolina

5 out of 5
Beautiful port. Walked around the market and then took a buggy ride.

Port Canaveral, Florida

5 out of 5
Rented a car and explored on our own. Cocoa Beach was a blast.

Perfect Day At Coco Cay, Bahamas

5 out of 5
Beautiful Island. Rented a cabana in the Thrill Park area and the kids loved it.

Nassau, Bahamas

4 out of 5
Went to Blue Lagoon. We had a nice time but don't expect to find huge waves. The water was shallow and perfect for little ones.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Best disembarkation ever! Waited maybe 20 minutes in the Palladium before getting off the ship.

Thanks for sharing your cruise.

That ship is one of their older smaller ships. I bet one of the newer big ships would have entertained them as the have so much to do.

Bad ship choice for younger people, you needed one of their big ships from Florida

I went on the Grandeur twice as a teen, once in the summer, once in the winter. There was plenty for me to do, but I'm not high maintenance.
