All in all it was okay. Out of all of the cruises I've been on this was the worst. Boat smelled like cesspool, casino smelled terrible, asked for ice and ice water at two of the shows and got a sour face from the waiters. Windows that I paid $400 extra for were dirty to the point we could not see outside. Royal Caribbean lost me previous cruise info. Should be a gold member by now. Itinerary for activities needs to be laid out better
Embarkation

No trouble getting on the ship. Everyone was friendly and helpful.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining

The Gadsby Dining Room staff and food were awesome! Never better. Lamb shank needs to go though. Overcooked. Chops Restaurant overcooked both of our steaks, but was a pleasant experience otherwise. The buffet was way to crowded.
Onboard Activities

Too much overlapping. We could not do a lot of things on the itinerary. It was an issue everyday that we could not be at the shows, sales, and events that were all timed inconveniently. Game shows in Pacific Lounge were not well prepared. One they had no pencil and paper which were needed to write answers.
Entertainment

Comedians! More comedians!
Service and Staff

The waiters were all awesome! Our room steward was lacking. We only saw two towel animals and after so many cruises this was a given I thought. Our friends had one every day and their steward had ice every day. They said they paid extra tip on the first day and that was why they got special treatment. We have never had to tip on the first day to get service that should have been a normal occurrence.
Ship Quality

Very confusing. Need bigger numbers on the walls. The smoke smell was terrible in the casino.
Cabin / Stateroom

Waste of money. We got a Window Room and the window was covered with green and brown slime and a white film. We could not see anything through it. It was basically opaque. I complained to the concierge and he said they clean the windows twice a month 12 months a year. He said sorry. I paid for a window with a view and was ripped off. Under the desk there was a grate and it was filled with an inch of dust and dirt and trash. Didn't notice until the last day. I was very surprised. This was years worth of dirt. I tried RC from a friends recommendation rather than carnival. Carnival had clean windows and no dirt. Also the room smelled like a sceptic tank the whole trip. Gross.
Ship tip
Pick another ship. Don't get a biog window room. There are dirty windows all along the 8th floor and smelly rooms cancelled out the good food and service in teh Gadsby.
Swimming with the pigs was over priced and unhealthy. We were wading in the water and the 600 lb pigs were going to the bathroom everywhere. We were not told we couldn't take picture until we got there. Money Trap. Bartender at Cocoa Cay made us iced drinks with a nasty rum floater that was not asked for. When we complained he argued with us and paid more attention to three drunk college girls from another boat.
Again, felt rushed. Shopping embarkation was at the same time as excursions so no opportunity to do both. Too much overlapping. Couldn't get free stuff like others did. Bamboo place was out of necklaces that we were told would be available.
On our way out we stopped in the hallway at the exit where there were hundreds of chairs stacked to wait for our friends inside because it was windy and freezing outside. They had the keys to the car so we had to wait for them but the were put on the group that was getting off last even though we were on the same deck. A lady came by and said you cant wait here where its warm you have to go out in the cold to wait. This happened last year as well. Heartless. It was 34 degreess outside and 10 mile and hour winds.
BSN20 I have been reading all these comment and am a little nervous what I may be getting my self into in June. I have always cruised with RC and I sure hope this does not ruin it for me. I should have read all these reviews before I booked, I probably would have booked different. Next time. I am just trying to get my head right just in case
cruised Grandeur twice, most recent was Oct 2019. Had 4 adults and 2 grandchildren aged 7 and 11. We all had a fantastic time. So many activities. All staff we encountered went out of their way to take care of us.
My husband and I are going on our first cruise in June, we’re celebrating our 20th Anniversary. I really hope that this isn’t true it would be horrible to have to deal with all of that.
My wife and I were on this ship January 23 and we experienced a lot of the similar negative experiences that this individual went through. I was on the second floor and our whole floor smell like sewage. Even after complaining with guest services nothing was ever done about it. I realize that they are getting rid of this ship but I guess I just expect that you should get the same service no matter what ship you’re on. I will stick with carnival
Not happy about these negative comments! We are sailing on Grandeur Apr. 24. Looking forward to a grand time with family and friends! Will keep in mind these are only a very few neg. comments From the thousands of passengers that have been on Grandeur! See you soon!
This ship was much better in her Glory days. She's leaving the fleet, you may want to consider another RC ship. Adventure Of The Seas and Serenade Of The Seas are both great options.
Sorry you had some issues. The windows are rarely sparkling clean on any ship due to the salt water and weather. This ship is leaving the Royal Caribbean fleet, so it won’t be an issue with this one much longer.
