Review summary

We enjoyed our cruise even though the first 2 days were very cold and the last two days were very rough.  We were with another couple and we enjoyed their company even when the weather and seas did not cooperate.  There were plenty of things to do onboard.

We loved leaving from Baltimore because we live around 90 minutes from the port.  Passing under the Bay Bridge was fun.  Also, Baltimore has priority boarding.  It was easy on with priority boarding and easy off with self-assist.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
We were assigned 5 pm for my time dining on the first night and asked to switch to 6 or 6:30 after that but were only allowed 5 or 7 PM for dinner. Would like to see fresh fruit as a dessert choice in the evening.

Service and Staff

3 out of 5
Our wait staff were wonderful and we saw them all in the Windjammer as well as the dining room. They always recognized us and spoke to us no matter where we saw them.

Ship Quality

1 out of 5
The ship showed its age even though it was overhauled in 2012. There was construction during most of the trip in the solarium making it unusable. There was noise, dust and dirt. It was not a quiet place to go to read a book. We loved the solarium on our last cruise on the Vision.

Cabin / Stateroom

3 out of 5
The cabin was clean and quiet. We love inside cabins because we sleep like babies because they are dark. The shower curtain however smelled sour as if it had sat in a washer several days after it was washed. The whole bathroom had an odor because of the shower curtain.

Ship tip

There were several families with unruly children. The parents made no attempt to correct the children. Several times children that were running wild bumped into me. We are planning a longer cruise next year, not so close to Spring break. The majority of the children on the ship were great!
