Review summary

All in all we had a very enjoyable cruise.  Every member of the ship's staff that we encountered was very pleasant, upbeat and helpful, especially our cabin Steward, Igede.   The food was good, although we thought that the menu selections on some nights was limited.  We dined one night at Chops, and that was outstanding!  They offered a wide variety of entertainment, and all of it was interesting and enjoyable.  The ship was well decorated for the Christmas holiday, and with the carol singing and Santa handing out gifts on Christmas morning, it made for quite a festive trip.  We also enjoyed the day in Nassau and at Key West.

The only issue we had was when we tried to rent a cabana on Coco Cay.  We completed the rental agreement, but a day before we were to arrive at Coco Cay, we received a note saying that we could not get a cabana, as they were only available to guests who were serviced by the concierge.  After we expressed our displeasure, the excursions manager took several actions to compensate us for the inconvenience and the misunderstanding.  While the experience was disappointing, we felt that the management did try to do what they could to provide some satisfaction.

We would consider trying this type of cruise again in the future.

The junior quite had plenty of space for the 3 of us, and we enjoyed the large balcony.

Ship tip

If you can afford the extra $35 per person, we highly recommend trying the Chops restaurant.

Ports of call

Baltimore, Maryland

5 out of 5
Easy access to and from I 95. The port does a good job in getting you on and off of the ship.

Port Canaveral, Florida Did not visit port

Not much of a stop unless you want to try to spend a few hours at Disney World of Universal. However, if you are lucky enough to be in port during a space launch the view is spectacular from the deck of the ship!

Nassau, Bahamas

Enjoyed the sea / land excursion.

Cococay (Cruise Line's Private Island)

The cabanas are not even on the beach. The water is very shallow, so you have to go out quite a ways before you can even get in up to your waste! And, when the tide goes out, it is even worse.

Key West, Florida

5 out of 5
A very enjoyable place to visit. Many places to shop or eat, and the excursion trolleys provide good access to most parts of the island.
