Review summary

This was a great cruise to Alaska. A true bucket list adventure that did not disappoint.

Embarkation

1 out of 5
We took the shuttle from airport to ship. It was great and very easy to do

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
There were many great food choices and locations. A wonderful assortment of culinary choices.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
Great choice of activities but things do end a bit early

Entertainment

5 out of 5
We did not go to the shows but truly enjoyed the guest speakers that spoke about Alaska. And there was a couple of comedians that gave a good evening show.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
We stayed in a penthouse suite. The room service was very attentive and anything we needed was address very quick and efficiently.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
It is an older ship but that is what we enjoyed. None of the water parks and rock climbing venues. There was the classic vibe in the bars comfortable lounge chairs and nice ambient lighting throughout.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Wonderful space within the cabin. The bed is comfortable but the mattress is almost in need for a replacement. We had a third person sleeping on the pullout sofa. That was comfortable enough, especially once we had the room service add a couple of comforters on top of the mattress. The balcony is in need of a fresh coat of paint but huge and perfect for happy hours and gatherings.

Ports of call

Cruise Hubbard Glacier

5 out of 5
The views are amazing and only get better as the cruise goes on.

Cruise Glacier Bay

5 out of 5
This was the most breathtaking view I have ever seen. It was the highlight of the trip.

Skagway, Alaska

5 out of 5
A fun port. Be prepared for too many jewelry shops. We went on the scenic rail pass and it did not disappoint. Easy access and comfortable benches within the train. Taking the opportunity to stand outside while the train is moving was very fun and allowed for great photo opportunities.

Juneau, Alaska

5 out of 5
Nice port. Smaller than what one would expect. Classic tourist shopping with more jewelry shops. Went to Mendelhall glacier and enjoyed the sights and scenic walking paths. We took the time to find the local brewery which was a fun spot to end the day before going back on the ship.

Ketchikan, Alaska

4 out of 5
This is an easy port to walk around. Classic shops for tourist shopping but there are some small shops the have some local treasures.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Disembarkation was well organized and efficient. Staying in the penthouse suite has a special area that has coffee and pastries for you while you wait to leave the ship.
