Review summary

Overall, this cruise was near seemless from beginning to end. From embarkation to disembark it was a very relaxing getaway; the food was adequate, entertainment very good, service was excellent, and the crew was the friendliest ever experienced. This cruise may have been a little heavy on sea days for some, but I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this cruise or ship to anyone.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
No one does it better than Princess

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Overall there is a good variety to choose from, but the specialty restaurants were fantastic in all phases.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
For the most part there are activities for all ages depending on what you enjoy doing and the activity level you want to be involved in.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
My wife and I both really enjoyed the entertainment from the stage shows that included a magician, comedian, and singers/dancers to the smaller Piazza venues with trios and individual musicians.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
We have been on numerous cruises and never experienced a friendlier more willing to serve crew on any previous cruise. Always a smile, a helping hand, and great service.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
The ships layout is easy to follow and the crew kept evrything spotless from the public areas to the state rooms. Although the ship showed its age, it was going into a refurb dry dock as soon as our cruise ended, so it should be much nicer for the very next scheduled cruise in late March 2019.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
The layout and size was adequate and Normando kept the room spotless!

Ship tip

If you want some quiet time in the sun the Sanctuary Sundeck, Pool, and Hot tubs are the place to go.

Ports of call

San Francisco, California

4 out of 5
There is a lot to do here if you have never been in San Francisco before, Muir Woods, Napa Valley, Golden Gate Bridge, Alcatraz, Fisherman's Wharf and such. Extend your vacation and stay a day or two.

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico Did not visit port

Unfortunately, I caught a pretty good cold and opted to stay on the ship. But hey, there is a Walmart just off the pier, what more could you ask for! (Just kidding)

Manzanillo, Mexico

3 out of 5
Didn't see much of the city, but did the turtle excursion instead. It was a little underwhelming, but hopefully the monies are used to support turtle research and protection.

Mazatlan, Mexico

4 out of 5
We explored Mazatlan on our own. There was plenty to see and do and it is worth the time to get off the ship and take a trip into the city.

Cabo San Lucas, Mexico

4 out of 5
We took a whale watching excursion in Cabo and luckily they were very active on our port day. After the excursion we ventured around the marina and visited some of the little local shops. Weather was beautiful and a great day for a walk.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Again, no one seems to do it better than Princess. We were off the ship, picked up our luggage, and through customs fifteen minutes before our scheduled disembark time. There were no long lines, no waiting time, just about perfect.
