Review summary

12/14 we noticed black dots on the bedding and thought it was from last guest clothing. We experienced a dry and burning sensation in our nostrils when sitting in the room for more than 30 min. 12/18/18 power outage at 3:45 AM. CPAP not working, woke up choking for air, also AC not working, the ship had stopped and was idling for 45 minutes in the middle of the ocean. The AC in the room did not come on till midday. 12/19/2018 Midday, AC stopped working and the room was very hot. The smell of burnt rubber started to come in. We had to leave the room right away as it made us cough. The maintenance cane to fix the AC worked on it for more than an hour but the smell still did not go away. Went out for dinner, the smell is worse and AC wasn’t working again. Called desk services again at 9:10. Had to involve the supervisor to come and see the room. At around midnight they said we can change your room. They only offered a room in the very front of the ship which made us seasick. Our original room was closer to the mid ship which was our preferred choice when we booked and paid for it. The new room also smelled like sewer as it was close or directly over the sewer processing area or related. They were also painting the area with a VOC type paint that the AC system was pulling in the room, and was irritating our lungs with accompanying headaches as well. Both the old and new room had mildew in the bathrooms which could have been cleaned prior to our boarding. We were tired most of the trip from sleep deprivation due to all of these issues and the stress. It was obvious that the ship has not been properly maintained based on these and other observations. The vacation was supposed to be enjoyable and relaxing. but turn out to be miserable and frustrating. The whole event shows negligence on the part of Princess Cruise line.

Bathrooms are not as clean. They need to use chlorine to remove mildew from grouts.

The ship's power went out in the middle of the night and we idled for an hour in the middle of the ocean. CPAP Machine stopped working at 3:45 AM due to the power outage. The AC unit never came back and next they smelled like burned rubber. we found black particles on our bedding every night. They could not fix the AC, so the move us to a room that we later found out was on top of the sewer treatment. We paid for a suite and it was a horrible experience. The British staff were snobs and spoke to you in a condescending tone. The international staff was kind and polite!!
