The crowd on the ship was much older so the entertainment & activates were geared toward an older crowd. Being in my mid 50's I felt like it was not geared to my age group.
Embarkation
5 out of 5
Getting on the ship was one of the smoothest ever. not sure if I need to credit the port or the cruise line.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
2 out of 5
The anytime dining food was terrible. We even went to the Italian restaurant and it was even worse. The pizza place on the 5th floor was the best. Servers seemed robotic. They would walk by you saying out loud "Drinks, coffee" but, if you said yes please or raised your hand they would keep walking. They were just saying what they were taught to say and not focusing on the end result.
Onboard Activities
2 out of 5
The adult only area was very small and kind of in a hole so it was shaded. The good adult area had to be paid for $25 per person for 1/2 day.
I did the pearl making necklace and that was fun but, all the other activities did not interest me.
Casino
4 out of 5
Workers in the casino were nice, fun and very helpful. They only spend the craps table at 8:00 pm (They said it was one hour earlier then normal) Most folks were tired at this point snd didn't play craps. They wouldn't open the table any other time of day no matter how many people wanted to play.
Entertainment
1 out of 5
The only entertainment we enjoyed was THE VOICE.
Service and Staff
2 out of 5
I had never been told no so many times on a ship. I asked my room Stewart for 2 wine glasses and I was told it would take to long to find them I would be better served to call room service.
Sitting just outside the PAY adult area there were about 6 couple sitting for about 3-4 hours and no one ever came by and asked if ewe needed anything. Workers would walk by to go to the bathroom etc but no one ever asked if we needed a drink.
The longer cruises are geared for an older crowd no matter what cruise lines your on...anything over ten days will normally have retirees...7-10 day cruises the average age will be around 50...7 and under will have younger crowds...Mexican and Caribbean cruises are cheaper and again will have younger passengers...spring break and Christmas cruises will have very young people ...if the age of passengers or activities that interest you are important to you...let your TA know...a good TA will be able to advise you
My husband and I struggle with that also. On our last Princess cruise we traveled with friends and went to the night club just so we could enjoy the crowd more. We noticed the karaoke, wheelhouse bar and anytime dining had a younger crowd. Princess is so beautiful and has amazing food. I wish they would offer up more as far as entertaining those of us too old to be clubbing & too young to spend the day playing board games. 💙
