Review summary

This was our first cruise ever with Princess Cruise. We had heard alot about it and may be that set our expectaion too high, thereore a bit disapointing with the actual experience. Our ship, Grand Princess, seemed to be a bit over exhausted and in need to have a face lift. I'm sure the safety equipment work ine however, the rest of the ship seem to be rusting. The furniture are all old and need a face lift. One thing which we found very annoying is that from themoment we got on the board we were bombarded with sales pitch for everything from buying a coupon for coffee to buyinng wine etc. With a $2000 per person, one would expect to have the coffee and water to be included, hiowever we were charged separately.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
They were mostly good except our cabin stewart which had somewhat an attitude from day one, eventhough we gave him a very generous tip on the second day. May be he sould be trained to explain the procedures and policies of his job to the guests so we know what an when to expect from him. Also on one occassion we went o dine in the Via Beneto restaurant and as we were waiting for a table, the metrode was yelling at the waiter in front of everybody whic was very unprofessional. I believe his name was Marsel. He should know if there's a problem he should address it outside of the dining room.

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
Ship need a face lift and a paint job very urgently.

Cabin / Stateroom

3 out of 5
Old furniture, and very uncomfortable mattresses.
