Review summary
Really a fantastic cruise!!! I would do this cruise again and would definitely recommend it to anyone! If possible, add on the Land portion (a "cruisetour") to really get a more thorough feel for Alaska.
Embarkation
4 out of 5
It went seamlessly. Unfortunately, our train was late on arriving in Whittier so it was extremely rushed getting onboard.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
4 out of 5
Overall, everything was really good. We had some significant delays in the main dining rooms the last 2 nights - not really sure why? It took us almost 2 hours to have appetizer, salad, main course and dessert.
Onboard Activities
5 out of 5
I did the Susan G Komen 5K. We had a really low turnout despite fantastic weather. This was held on a port day so maybe schedule for a Sea Day next time? Also participated in the Princess Pop Choir - super fun!

Service and Staff
4 out of 5
This was my first Princess cruise so I really don't want to judge yet. Service was very good, but there wasn't anything special about it. Not sure if it was a Princess thing or just this cruise. Our room steward was wonderful, and was very accommodating the few times we had a special request.
Ship Quality
5 out of 5
You can't really change the layout, but the Promenade Deck wasn't great for the 5K - for the forward part of the ship, Deck 7 (Promenade) "continues on Deck 8" (Emerald, I believe?) - so 4 different sets of stairs every lap around the ship.
Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
No complaints about the cabin! Just as an FYI: The balconies on this ship are tiered at 3 different depths, so the lowest balcony, and the level above it (Caribe - this was our level) both have some "open" (exposure to the sun) area, as well as a small amount of covered area - these 2 levels are also less private as their open area can be viewed from the balconies above.
