Doing the 7 day Southbound Alaskan cruise was worth every penny. Not only was the Golden Princess a terrific cruiseline from all aspects, all the ports and excursions lived up to its promises.
Embarkation

As we were in the penthouse suite, embarkation was smooth and expedited.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
5 out of 5
We frequented the Anytime Dining most of the time..there were no problems in getting a seat..ambience was good and we didnt have to wait long for being waited on and served. We have occassionally taken our breakfast at the Grill which has a good setup as well. The buffet at Lido Deck has plenty of seats and very clean.
Onboard Activities

Spent most of the time in our suite..the scenery from our room is too beautiful to miss.

The mattreses were extremely comfortable.Room was spacious enough and was always clean. The bathroom had a bathtub cum jacuzzi which added icing to the cake. The aft balcony was very spacious and had excellent views.
Ship tip
Good choice..I would give this cruise liner a 2 thumbs up..
The town is small but plenty of shops. Took the White Pass Rail to the summit..could not comment much as the clouds were low and it was drizzling. The pan for gold at Alaska 360 was a good experience.
The ship docked near the shops. Getting souvenirs should not pose as a problem. We had an excellent excursion to Mendenhall Glacier(Nugget Falls), whale watching with a salmon bake thereafter. In town, we had the excellent Alaskan King Crab at Tracy's King Crab shack.
Nice town..good wilderness cruise at the George Inlet. We saw eagles soaring the skies and had seen the place where the Dungeness crabs thrived.Had an all you can eat crab fest thereafter.
Canada Place certainly looked busy but was a walking distance to our hotel at Hyatt Regency. Visited Stanley Park, Lynn Canyon and the Salmon Hatchery at Capilano..an excellent excursion indeed.
