Enjoyed Cruise on Freedom of The Seas by angiehatcher

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Freedom of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

Staff was very friendly and helpful.  The ship provided various activities, that was great.  The ship was great in itself.  The ports we visited were interesting and had great photo opportunities.

Super good experience by johnturner191

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Freedom of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

17 Cruises but first time with Royal Caribbean.  Thoroughly enjoyed it.  Definitely thinking about taking another with R.C.  Staff was super friendly (like it was when we first traveled with Carnival - seems like they have forgotten 'friendliness")    The food was great and plenty of choices.  Shows were great - however, I did enjoy the "extra space" Carnival had in their theatres.

Freedom of the Seas was disappointing by rwjmt

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Freedom of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

ship was definitely ready for dry dock.  Wait staff was good. Room ok. people on board were somewhat friendly although we ran into a few rude people. Food in windjammer was same from day to day. Would have enjoyed a bigger selection each day. Overall experience was ok  but as Crown and anchor members we were very disappointed  :(  Not the RCCL  experience we have had in the past

Great ship ,we were checking it out to take our son and daughter in law and our two grandsons.we asked many children on the ship of their thoughts about the ship .they all told us that they were having a good time. The waiter and assistant ,Ian and rosette were very attending and great people and made our trip great.

A Great 30th Anniversary by mmelton63

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Freedom of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

We took this same trip 5 years ago, but this time we decided to try to save money and we booked through , which not only saved us money, but we got a great inside balcony room for the same price as inside rooms without a view.  We also received a free nights stay along with our order, which we haven't used yet, but I'm sure we will soon.  Thank you for making our trip so wonderful.

HIGH SEAS RALLY by dmcdevitt1965

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Freedom of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

I booked this cruise for my daughter's birthday.  We were not informed when making our reservation that we would be traveling with what is called the High Seas Rally (if you don't know what that means, it was 2,400 Harley Davidson Bikers).  I would NOT choose to take my daughter on a cruise with a ship full of bikers and believe I should have been given this information before making my decision.  The bikers took over the pool decks during the day, however at night they had private functions that the rest of the passengers were not invited to.  With 3,600 total passengers and 2,400 of them being bikers, that left very few people participating in the planned activities.  I heard cruise director's staff talk about how they have never seen so few people at the different activities.  It was not fair to the guests that paid to be on the cruise, but not part of the biker group.  Also, the crew seemed to be on edge all week; I am not sure if that was because of the bikers or a previous issue with complaints. I did witness one crew member being verbally assaulted by one of the bikers.  I am used to the crew being able to interact with the guests, but they seemed afraid to do that on this cruise (with the exception of a few).  To add to all this, we totally missed the first stop due to bad weather and then had to return to port after cruising for a few hours due to a medical emergency, which made us 2 hours late getting into St. Thomas (3 days later).  I understand things happen that cannot be controlled, however most people only get a few weeks of vacation time.  We plan and pay for our time away from our jobs and it does affect our experience when the cruise is different from what we expected.  There was absolutely no compensation for the inconvenience; it would have gone a long way to offer a free drink or a credit for something (even a free t-shirt).  It would not have cost Royal Caribbean much, but would have given the passengers a better feeling about the cruise line.  I will not book with Royal Caribbean again and feel that Norwegian provides much better customer service and the food choices are much better on both Norwegian and Carnival.

This was one of our most enjoyable cruises ever. The entertainment was the best we have ever seen. The food was delicious and the service was excellent. We want to take our family with us next year on the same cruise.

High Seas Rally by imcintyre

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Freedom of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

We were not aware that 2,000 Harley Davis Bikers would be on the Freedom of the sea,for The High Seas Rally!!!  We felt like we should not have been on this cruise. We will never book Freedom of the Sea again. Our complaints are to numerous to list. This trip was a waste of good money.

FIRST CRUISE, NOT MY LAST !! by johnosborne3

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Freedom of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

my first cruise ,  i am thinking of booking another for June of 2015 !  the service was more then i expected. From the dining rooms to the small lounges and up to the biggest venue. the people on the ship were fabulous ! They went  beyond what was expected. Food was great. The turning down the beds at nite was such a surprise . The pools were clean and beautiful . There's not a reason to complain about my trip at all.   4 stars in my book  !

Very good cruise by simmonsbiomed

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Freedom of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

Quality was good. People were fun. Service was very good.  The food was a little hard to find after 9PM and the automatic tipping (where it's treated by the cruise line like an unwarned surcharge rather than for exceptional service) is less than ideal but the cruise overall was very good.  Casey, the cruise director was also very good.

Wonderful experience by rnichols001

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Freedom of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

We had a wonderful experience on Royal Caribbean's Freedom of the Seas western Caribbean cruise.  The pace was relaxing, the food and service were amazing, and the ports of call were interesting and varied.  I would highly recommend this cruise to anyone looking for a relaxing, fun-filled vacation!  This was our sixth cruise vacation, and was the most enjoyable one we have taken.  The entertainment was also top notch.  Our thanks to Royal Caribbean for a great vacation experience!

NICE <ENTERTAINMENT GOOD BUT SOME OTHER ISSUES by mrhipman

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Freedom of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

This was our third cruise with rcl,in our cabin 8323 cleaning crew was ok, first night we had very little hot water for our shower, i called guest services they fixed it right away,we started to have a rotten egg smell in the sink seems like it was coming out of the overflow vent in the sink, that same smell on deck five forward section starboard side, very strong smell as you exited from elevator to outside  where all life boats, are,THE second night dinner deck 5 my time dining table 140 waiter and asst were excellent but while eating, slight vibration in the area walking or sitting, the next night was much worse everyone was talking about it .That night they had  the pic with capt,i asked about the bad vibration, the.Capt of the ship, said we have a bearing on the prop shaft going out and are supposed to have it fixed in feb..ALSO during dessert imagine you are handed a menu all torn and shredded on the sides and stained why dont they throw it out ?not recirculate old embarrassing menus.i took a pic, then while at the pool getting towels clean but the one i got was so stained i didnt want to lay on it, other than these things everything was nice.Do you write about this or not, so i did maybe if these are always overlooked i can imagine what it would be like in a couple of years happy sailing gold member,

Great Cruise for 30-50 year olds... by handmedown31

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Freedom of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

This ship had great activities for young people through 50 year olds...a lot of parties after 10:00 PM...while the shows were wonderful and the ship is beautiful...we would have appreciated music in at least one of the lounges to be danceable for those 0ver age 60.slow & easy dancing and listening would have made us love the cruise more... The food was great..as was the service.. we would have enjoyed less Art Auctions and Jewelry hawking...also to much hawking of watches...otherwise all was well!!

First Royal Caribbean Cruise by GrandmaJean

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Freedom of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

As expected, there were wonderful things about this cruise and not so good things.  All staff get an excellent rating.  Food vacillated between excellent and mediocre.  Entertainment was top notch.  Good prices on alcohol purchases (to take home).  I haven't cruised in 20 years and things have changed insofar as you have to pay for more upgrades while on the ship (like better dining, etc.).  The worst part of the cruise is getting on and off the ship.  We stood in line for hours and hours.  This was OK when in my 50's but in 70's not a good experience at all.  Maybe they could dismiss deck by deck and provide places to wait where chairs are available rather than have to stand.  We were given a wait area that was packed with people and no place to sit.  My last cruise on a big ship like this.  My "hat's off" to the wonderful staff who took care of our room and served our meals.

Cruise experience by lynrice7x7

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Freedom of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

Everything was wonderful except for disembarking...a fiasco.  Also, the food choices at the Windjammer were basically the exact same thing every day, good food, but not a wide variety. The service staff were out of this world.  They were always available, always friendly, very helpful and kept everything clean.  The shows, exceptional.

GJNL2014 by popegeorge77

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Freedom of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

As Royal Caribbean is know for holds true during our trip. The ships was immaculate. The crew was very friendly, helpful & courteous. All  aspects of entertainment was well planned. Cruise in general was very good! The only downfall is the debarkation at Port Canaveral. It was a very slow process (only 1 baggage claim turnstyle) and long line (4,000 people). Do not schedule your return tranportation too early because you might not make it. 1 pm flight out of Orlando was comfortable.
