I would hope that when people sail aboard a cruise ship to the Bahamas, they take some time to watch the ocean and the sky. Let your mind journey to a time of wooden ships with masts, only 70-80 feet in length. Sailing into waters never charted before by explorers. There was a time when ships of any size broke the waves. The ocean is still as blue as it was in 1492. Be thankful for what others braved for us. The sea, the wind, the cold and the unknown.
Embarkation

Parking and boarding is done well here in Ft. Lauderdale.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
4 out of 5
Chef's table was very good as always. A few new twists. Main dining room menu was good, but could use an update. Windjammer seemed better than in the past, with some new items for breakfast and lunch.
Onboard Activities
4 out of 5
Fitness center was in good shape, but there is no steam/sauna aboard the Freedom!
Entertainment
5 out of 5
On this cruise, Darla Fox performed in the Bull and Bear. She is a great talent with a wholesome charm, good voice and fun act. Curtis Labelle was in Schooners bar, which for most cruises is kind of ok. Curtis brought a more lively performance and got the entire crowd involved with some kind of shenanagins.
Service and Staff
3 out of 5
Service aboard this ship was just average. Most cruises, staff goes well above with being more personable and remembering guests by name and being more accommodating. It seemed as if they are showing some burnout as most were in years 15 and beyond. Hey, it happens!
Ship Quality
2 out of 5
The Casino has lost it's non smoking section it seems as smoking was all over the place. I mentioned it to a manager and was told they really had no control. Sad!!
Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
Cabin was nice and in very good working order. AC was very cold and the room was clean.
Ship tip
Take advantage of just being away. Enjoy a sunset, a wine tasting and a time away. Just please, have a good time.
Sounds like the casino 🎰 wasn't worried about business since they wouldn't do anything about all the smoke. I would've told the manager "Cya!" At least you still enjoyed the cruise 🛳.
