Review summary

This was a great cruise overall. The only thing we felt needed improvement was scheduling of the shows/games, especially the On Air Club area and Studio B. The On Air Club was always packed for game shows and needed to be in a larger space....very little seating. At one point there were people lining up for the ice show in Studio B when there was already a game going on in OnAirClub. It was packed in that area. They need a little more time in between shows/game shows. It's very hard to get to them when the masses are trying to go from one end of the ship to the other in a very short amount of time.

Embarkation

No line at check-in, but we weren't told what to do with bags and we ended up carrying them on ourselves.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Food was very good and we enjoyed every meal. Windjammer wasn't as crowded for breakfast and lunch as we have encountered in the past. Lots of choices as usual.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
We were pleasantly surprised that on our day at sea, we were able to find 4 chairs together at 10am and there were plenty of empties. Didn't do any other activities.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
All the entertainment was good...magician, shows, comedians, ice show

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
We had the best wait staff in the main dining room that we've ever had! Head waiter, Dennis, waiter, DWI and assistant waiter Li were awesome...like family by the end of the cruise. Our cabin steward, Kar was awesome too! All staff seemed to be very good and dedicated to their jobs.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
There were a few places in the photo gallery and casino where we noticed water leaks several times. We were on Deck 6 and we did notice a musty smell in the hallway all week, but our cabin was fine.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
We were in cabin 6557 inside promenade view. We were excited to hear it was a little larger than the regular inside cabins, but it still was very cramped because we had a small table and two loveseats/couches. Pretty tight quarters. The shower pressure was awesome!!

Ports of call

San Juan, Puerto Rico

We didn't do any sightseeing, but it looked like they are really coming back in the city from the hurricane.

Philipsburg, St. Maarten

We did not book a RC excursion, but booked one on our own through Amigo Tours to Orient Beach and Maho Beach. Orient Beach had lots of seaweed washed up on shore that day and they said that was not too common. Enjoyed Maho Beach experience of watching the planes land and takeoff. Not a great place to enjoy the beach experience though.

Basseterre, St. Kitts

We booked our own excursion Nevis Beach Getaway by Blue Water Safaris going by boat to a beach on Nevis. It was a group of 10 people and we basically had the beach to ourselves for a few hours until a few other boats started bringing some others there. It included 2 beach chairs and umbrella and a very nice local girl, Ebony, who took care of our every need including getting us our lunch from a nearby restaurant.

St. John's, Antigua

This was our favorite island...just beautiful!! We booked our own excursion through Viator on the Antigua Shore Excursion: Round Island Tour. Our group of four were taken all around the island in a nice SUV with our own driver telling us about everything and showing us all the highlights. Our tour was supposed to be 5 hours and it ended up being 6 1/2. Well worth the $$$.

Castries, St. Lucia

We like this island too. We booked Joy's Adventure Excursion which took us from the port to Soufriere where we took a van to the Pitons for a mud bath and waterfall, followed by a lunch at Joy's house. After lunch to the boat again and then to a beach for an hour to swim or relax before returning to the port.

Bridgetown, Barbados

This was the most relaxing awesome excursion...We didnt want to leave!!!!! We booked the Calabaza 5 hour catamaran lunch cruise. The staff was awesome, making you feel like royalty! We swam with turtles and snorkeled a small reef. This was definitely our favorite excursion and would highly recommend it!!

Disembarkation

Room steward will get rid of that ridiculous table if you ask, makes the room worlds better.
