Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
The food was amazing at the Chef's table! The dining room was average but service was excellent! The food at the Wind Jammer was very good. Music and DJ was annoying in the mornings at the Wind Jammer. Would love to just listen to Reggae or something more reminiscent of tropical places.

Onboard Activities

Entertainment

Excellent band! But would love more Reggae music played by the band please! Especially on days at sea when you're laying out by the pool! Less pop songs and old songs.

Service and Staff

We LOVED Christopher and Mauro! They are the best! Friendly, informative and entertaining! Give them a raise! Our room attendant Martha was also wonderful and extremely helpful!

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
I would've been more comfortable (sanitary) with a true mattress cover over the foam that was put down on top of the mattress. There was only a sheet.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Needs a real mattress cover instead of just a sheet. Better pillows...not so flat. More blankets on the bed. A/C worked very well! Room is very quiet! TV remote did not work very well. Need taller chairs on balcony so you can see the horizon when you sit. View is obstructed by the railing. Would have loved a coffee maker!

Ship tip

The pizza on the promenade was not very good but it was great to have a starbucks! It was very cool to have a mall on the boat and an Ice Skating rink, rock wall, wave runner, volleyball court, Johnny Rockets...lot's of amenities! Overall, we had an excellent experience on Freedom!

Ports of call

Ft. Lauderdale (Port Everglades), Florida

Really run down. Not enough attendants at the port upon disembarkation. Lines rediculously long and process extremely lengthy.

DesireeStrong,

Thank you for the feedback and the observations.  I hope we get some more observations from cruisers and some reaction from RCCL. This should be a great time to cruise, off peak and off holiday.

Our RCCL cruises out of Port Canaveral have had embarks and debarks that were almost as fast as we could walk. I hope this gets resolved very quickly and the oasis class cruises out of Ft Lauderdale can end on a good note for all.

JohnsonL,

I really do not know what the delay was.  We were not given a reason and the pager was not aware either when asked.  The only reason I can think of is that this was their very first time docking at this port.

Happy to hear you had a good cruise. I am always interested in other ships and cruise lines.

Sorry to hear about the Ft. Lauderdale debarkation delays, but that is a good warning for flight planning. Were you in a later group for debarkation, or is it possible that you were assigned lower priority to get passengers with flight arrangements off the ship first?
