Review summary

See notes below in each category. Overall cruise was good. We have been on the Freedom at least 6 times. This is the first time we have seen a lack of attention to details as commented below. On other cruises the Supervision of workers was very visible. On this cruise as commented below it was poor. Even when items brought to the attention of the Matra'D. he ignored the comment.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

1 out of 5
Dining Room Dress Policy is not enforced. People with tank tops, hats on, hats on backwards, pool flip flops, and tee shirts were allowed at early dining. Utensils dropped on floor were put in clean bin and used.

Onboard Activities

Ship Quality

1 out of 5
Musty smell possibly caused from mold in Deck 9 hallway by rooms 9540 and beyond.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Cabin showing it's age. Cracked mirror by desk. Bathroom mirrors discolored on the edges.

Ship tip

A good thing we do when we get into our Cabin is to find the life jackets, try them on, get the fit and straps adjusted so if needed in the dark you know they are ready.

I think it's because cruising as a vacation has become much more main stream. When we started cruising we would never consider going with out two different suits for me and two evening gowns for my wife for formal nights. Regular nights I would "just" have a tie no jacket, the wife a dress not a gown. I'm not saying it's a bad thing, but the elegance of cruising is long gone, and with it went a lot of the outstanding service

I think it's all due to the tipping! They automatically get tipped so some don't feel all to inclined to go out of their way. I noticed this with the bartenders on the Allure this past April and hope I have better experienced in January
