This was our third cruise, second with Royal, like the smaller ship and the stops were great! Blessed with good weather most of the time, quick and attentive service.

We have a wonderful time with a great cruise ship and very friendly staffs to take good care of us. The food on the ship are very good and we have do some self control so we don't over eat. There are plenty of entertainment on the ship and the day on the ship go by very fast. The seven days cruise is over before we really know it. Overall, our first cruise is great and we would do it again next time.

My first cruise, first time in Alaska. It was awesome. Our room steward Ujnesh was attentive and took great care of us. Our Dining Room Waiter and Assistant Waiter Eshville and Christopher were personable and super at their jobs. The food was great, didn't have a bad interaction with a single employee or even a fellow cruiser. Our cabin was wonderful; Deck 12 with panoramic windows. Saw seals, whales, dolphins, lots of different sea birds.

This was my first cruise and it was also my honeymoon. I enjoyed it to the max, and would do this again in the future. Took trips offered by the cruise with family, and got to shop in each port of call.

This is the first Royal ship I have been on. Enjoyed it very much, although my family agrees it needs to be refurnished again. Other than that, it was excellent and we thoroughly enjoyed our vacation.

Cruise was great, and the food was out of this world. The crew was was very attentive to anything you needed. There was so much to do on board, my wife and I loved the casino.

We loved our time on Explorer of the Seas and would recommend it to anyone. P and O have a lot of growing to do, We thought the staff were well trained and looked like they enjoyed their jobs. The Captain is keeping a very happy crew we thought.

Despite rain and chilly weather, we had a great time. The ship, food and entertainment excellent. Whale watching hit or miss, we saw a few hump backs. Lunch at Orca lodge was very good..just a bit hazardous getting off the boat in rough water, blowing rain. All in all, I would recommend this cruise in July.

The downside was no laundry found on each deck like Princess has. You have to pay per bag and there is a 24+ hour turnover. Princess has laundry on each deck where you can do your own. That was very helpful. We went to one of the specialty dining and paid more money. I felt the food at the normal dining area was better. It was not worth the extra money.

Cruise was good, ports of call were great. Captain was able to get close to glacier. Food and service were not up to the standard of Royal Caribbean.

Overall it was a great trip, the scenery there is breath taking, would love to go again there is really nothing bad to say about an Alaskan cruise you make it as fun as you want

All in all, Alaska is magnificent and a cruise is a good way to start discovering it. We found out a few things we would do differently, there were things we were disappointed in, but we still feel we had a fantastic vacation. We were able to keep costs low but would probably explore more possibilities for alternative activities in port. We are definitely going to dream about going back, although not necessarily with RC.

This review is for the food. Having traveled on Carnival, 3 small no name cruise lines and this ship, I was very disappointed in the food. Started the first night at Chops. Ordered the bone in ribeye. I was brought a T-Bone. I'm not one to complain, but when you are paying extra, you should get what you ordered. I was told they didn't have any Ribeye steaks upon questioning the waiter. This information should have been stated when I ordered the item. The next night, I ordered the Grouper. It definitely wasn't grouper. They had the same dish but with Sea Bass on the menu. Whatever fish it was (still don't entirely know), it wasn't Grouper (which happens to be one of my favorite types of fish). It was supposed to be Pan Fried. It was not pan fried, it was baked. It was supposed to come with Capers. There were no Capers. None. This is the first cruise I have ever been on where I am Hungry. I would not recommend this particular ship. I will update this review with more information, but Royal Caribbean appears to be on a cost cutting extravaganza and trying to pull one over their guests. It isn't appreciated. If you don't have something, just say it.

Taking my 80 plus year old parents on the cruise and they enjoyed themselves. Alaska was a place non of us had been to before. Very beautiful scenery.

In my opinion, this was was great cruise. I have seen dolphins, whales, the glacier, and everything else. I have always wanted to do this cruise and I feel fortunate to be ale to do with this captain and the crew. We had a great time. We are not any party animals; we enjoy just being with great people that know what they are doing, from the captain to the person who paints the boat. Would (and will) do this again.

Beautiful ship with excellent customer service. This cruise was absolutely fabulous with lots of runs stops in Alaska. The ports of call and shore excursions were fantastic!

I am not a frequent cruiser so when I was trying to read reviews from people who were I would often find a lot of criticisms which made me wonder what was founded and what was not . My experience was that the food was very good, the service provided by the crew members was also top notch. I think a cruise is something where you will have as much fun as you allow yourself, or as much fun as the people you are with, it really is what you make of it. I think the Explorer of the Seas delivered a fun experience for our party of 6 . The one criticism I would give (and this by no means was anything horrible) is you are barely into the first day of your cruise and they start talking about booking your next cruise on board, I know they are a business and need to keep sales going, I get it, but part of me is like - let me finish enjoying this cruise before you start trying to talk to me about doing another, again that would be my only critique and it was minor.

Sometimes very good. However, everything had an extra cost. A brief overview was nothing but a hard sell for excursions. Practice emergency drill was so disorganized! We had no idea where and when to report. Only by sheer accident did we see a security guy who looked at our SeaPass card and that told us where to report. Disappointing and disorganized.

Please just read my overall review, it says it all. My wife has taken three cruises and I have taken one. As I indicated in my review, I will be looking to book another cruise in the very near future.

Second time we've been on the ship in the past three years. Last time was 2014. The renovation has really made a good ship better. She was looking tired in 2014. All said though, really don't believe this ship is well suited for Alaskan cold weather cruising.
