Review summary

The ship is old and it shows it. Unfortunately the food in the dining room was not the best. Luckily the specialty restaurants made up for it. The Italian and Japanese restaurants were very good. You never see the cruise staff around the ship, only at an event. Other lines I have been on, they were everywhere, which is great. You get to know them and they get to know you. The venues they used for some activities were not good. Having trivia in the Schooner Bar was not big enough for the amount of people participating. The last day they moved it to a lounge.

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
Our dining room waiter was poor. We sent back a salmon dinner because it required a knife to cut it and after that she had an attitude for the rest of the week. She also requested that we give her a excellent rating so that she could get a day off.

We wound up with a handicap room because nothing else was available. With this, everything in the room was larger, especially the bathroom.

I contacted Urban Adventure Quest and did there Awesome San Francisco Scavenger Hunt. This was the best experience I have had in touring a city.

I went on Explorer last year loved it!

some people seem to think they should be on a ships maiden voyage. Given the "work" cruise ships do and the little time they get for maintenance they do a fantastic job. If you want to see a ship that is getting older, try the Pacific Jewel. She is pushing 30 and still going. RC ships are much newer and do it well

we spent 3 weeks on her in April and found her beautiful. the crew was always out and about with guests.

The ship was refurbished in 2015 if I'm not mistaken. Videos I've seen look beautiful, can you elaborate on what made it look old?
