Review summary

I've been on several cruises and by far this cruise is the only one that felt like a constant commercial. I can't say enough about our room steward, and dining rom wait staff. Balcony Stateroom 8520 My time dining table 243 Dennis and Dante!!!!

The food in the main dining room was excellent! We only ate at one specialty restaurant as they weren't part of the package. Every restaurant on board was at an extra charge. We've been on other cruises and had a variety of restaurants included in cruise. Royal Caribbean drops the ball in this area. They up charge for every little thing. The buffets were good but the seating in the dining rooms was frustrating to say the least.

I am assuming this is an older ship as there was only one Prominade area. I feel that Royal gears their cruise line to an older crowd and the activities were a bit scarce.

Entertainment

the entertainers were amazing!! The shows that I attended were very good. They only had one showing between 7:00 and 7:30. this meant if you wanted to see the show you had to have dinner before or after the show. We had my time dining and the only time available for reservations was 9p.m. .

Service and Staff

if it wasn't for the service staff the cruise would have been a bomb. I can not say enough about the staff on the ship. They work ungodly hours and ALWAYS were in good spirits. making sure that our every need, request, and want was met. Our room steward was always asking how we slept, how our day was going, what our plans were, with genuine concern if we seemed a little out of sorts. The dining staff waiters and bus boys also spoiled us making sure everything was perfect and to our liking. Remembering small things like that I only drink warm water, that my brother likes to eat a variety of things at meals. BRAVO TO OUR WAIT STAFF waiter Dennis and bus boy Dante table 243!!!!!!

Everything was very clean. Unfortunately it being a smaller ship there wasn't the variety that we are use to in public spaces. the only thing that i can complain abut was the ventilation system did not do a very good job of elevating the cigarette smell from casino and pool areas.

Cabin / Stateroom

The room was very nice. Spacious and very comfy. The balcony was amazing. It was very spacious and we really used it alot because the cigarette smell in the public areas steered us away from there. It was nice to have somewhere to retreat from the crowd.

Ship tip

Make sure you have a good book to read. be prepared to pay for anything extra you want. Room service upcharge, special restaurants upcharge, tour of ship $$$up charge. The t.v. in the room felt like a running commercial for the cruise line. that was a bit of a turnoff.
