Review summary

We liked most of the ports, and it was nice to relax by the pool. We would have liked more entertainment and more options to do thing in the evening (other than going to a bar and drinking, now that is fun but gets a little boring after a few nights). Royal Caribbean last minute changed our embarkation port, so that was a bit of a fiasco. We ended up checking in at Venice port and then they bused us to Trieste port (2 hour bus ride). The act of leaving the boat was fine. However, Royal Caribbean left us stranded at the port of Ravenna. The town of Ravenna is so small and not set up to transport masses of people from a cruise ship. This town had severe storms and major flooding, the train station was completely shut down and this town only has about 20-30 taxies. We got off thinking we would go to the translation and grab our train. We finally got to the station and found out it was closed. As you can image we were livid that Royal would leave us stranded. (there were also about 150 + others from the cruise stranded there too. I finally got a taxi back to the port and tried to talk to someone from Royal, and they didn't care at all. They just said sorry and for us to go back to the station and hope for the best. Not sure we will cruise with them again.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
The food in the main dining room was underwhelming at best. Not what we were use to from other cruise lines. The morning and lunch buffet was pretty good, the worst thing is the buffet area is secluded, only one way in and out. You can only access it from one area. There is no other options to eat, so if you are at the pool you're going to the other end of the ship just to grab a snack.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
The pool is great. Mini golf was fun it was good not great but nice.

Entertainment

2 out of 5
The times of the shows were not convent for the 8:30 dinner start. And not much variety of shows. After dinner the only thing to do was go to a bar. They definitely want you to drink and spend money in the casino.

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
The staff is awesome.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
Cleanliness is great. But definitely areas of the ship that needed general maintenance. (paint etc..) Didn't like the position of the buffet, not easy to get to and the buffet was the only place to get lunch or breakfast.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
loved the cabin. plenty of closet space, nice soft beds.

Ship tip

It helps to check the schedule of the activities on the app. We love the app.

Ports of call

Ravenna, Italy

2 out of 5
Very small town not set up to handle large cruise ships. Not much to see there.

Split, Croatia

4 out of 5
Very pretty, our ship arrived late so we had to skip our tour. But went to the beach and had a nice time.

Santorini, Greece

4 out of 5
Go to the distillery tour, it was so much fun. The town is small and lots of people in a small area, food was great and went to the beach in the afternoon and had a great time.

Piraeus (Athens), Greece

4 out of 5
This city is massive! We went to the Parthenon and it was amazing. But so many people it was elbow to elbow.

Dubrovnik, Croatia

5 out of 5
This was our favorite port. Great Old Town. We booked our own Game of Thrones tour and it was fantastic. I would definitely go back on my own.
