Review summary

Fabulous cruise. Island hopping cruises can be exhausting, I'll need to pace myself a little better if I do this type of cruise again. I really missed having a sea day!

Embarkation

Busy, but not terrible. Maybe about 40 minutes from arrival to boarding the ship. Puerto Rico did require an additional health travel declaration form with a QR code to show at the airport in order to enter the country. I believe this form is now no longer required.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
In the MDR, Roney and Lady took excellent care of our table of solo travelers, outstanding service. I enjoyed all the dining options and everything was tasty and well prepared. No complaints 👌

Entertainment

I didn't care for the stage show (the name escapes me) but the musicians were good and there was a nice variety. At the comedy club, one was okay and the other was definitely not ready for primetime.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Cabin steward did a great job keeping the stateroom tidy. Loved my towel animals! He also found me a power strip (the one I brought was confiscated even though it had a surge protector, first time I ever had that happen). When I plugged it in, it started to smoke and nearly shorted out the outlet. I guess the electrical outlets on Explorer of the Seas can't handle power outlets, never had that problem on any other RC ships. In any event, I appreciated Marcus' efforts to make me happy.

Ship tip

Be prepared to have your power strip taken away, even if it has a surge protector.

Thank you for the heads up on the power strip/outlet situation. I will be sailing soon and now I have a plan for it.

Yeah, surge protectors are not welcome on the ships. Glad the incident didn’t ruin your cruise.

Surge protectors are NOT allowed on ships. Sorry you had to get yours taken away.
