Review summary

Learning experience for our first cruise back. Some precautions were well taken; others need further consideration. Lack of transparency of testing and contact tracing for some guests is uncalled for.

Embarkation

4 out of 5
Had to show our passports, vaccination cards, and negative COVID tests at 3-4 different stations. Seemed excessive.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Main dining room was fine but we were at a table completely to our party of 6.

Onboard Activities

1 out of 5

Entertainment

3 out of 5
Entertainment was good. We did miss a few of our favorite things such as the Captain's toast, staff parade of countries, and others.

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
Dining room and Windjammer staff were great. Avoid the shops on the Promenade unless you want to sanitize your hand at each and every store you enter.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
Enforcement of guest mask wearing was inconsistent. The four to an elevator was annoying in that some people would try to cram in despite the limit with no safe way for a guest to address it.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
Great room attendant but the room and balcony were dated.

Ship tip

Be patient and understanding.
