Review summary

It was a great family trip. Lovely and picturesque destination. Typical alaskan weather except the sun was out for 1/2 day in skagway which was very welcomed. Attentive crew. Wished that some activities were not climate dependent i.e. pool, rock climbing.

Main dining room was great. waitstaff very attentive. windjammer buffet was convenient.

Onboard Activities

Basketball court was great and opened a lot of the the time. rock climbing and ice skating not as available due to shows and weather conditions. too cold for pool as this was an alaska cruise. at times, the children was bored and looked for things to do. spent a lot of time in library with games when things weren't available.

@klieser The Explorer was GREAT. The crew was amazing, the food was great. A heads up, the 2nd at sea day heading to Victoria, the waters were quite rough for us. Not sure if that was because of the storms that were happening in the East affecting the weather. You're going to have a great time!

First cruise to Alaska and using royal carribean. The ship was clean. The staff very friendly and accommodating. The food in both the Windjammer and the Saphire dining room was mediocre, at best. In Juneau we kayaked to the Mendenhall Glacier. We rode the white pass train to the top of the mountain. Beautiful scenery, but excursion was a little long. We zip lined in Victoria. The best trip by far was the kayak ride. All the extras royal cqrribean charges extra for was a bit disappointing
