Review summary

The cruise was good and ports excellent. I felt there was too much focus on selling things tho. I would cruise on HAL again.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Food ranged from mediocre to excellent in the dining room. Lido buffet was very good. I like that staff serves the food as this minimizes contamination and waste.

Service and Staff

3 out of 5
Waiters in the dining room were very pleasant but also very slow and sometimes forgetful.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
The ship was very clean and well maintained. This is an older ship so the design is dated.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
The room was very clean and comfortable, the hallway was very narrow, bathroom was large. We loved the bathtub and especially the bath robes.

Ship tip

Paying the extra money for a veranda upgrade was well worth it.

Ports of call

San Diego, California Did not visit port

We have been to San Diego many times and love it, but this time we drove over from Arizona and didn't stay.

Cabo San Lucas, Mexico

we have been here before so just enjoyed a walk around.

Mazatlan, Mexico

5 out of 5
We walked the Blue Line to Old Town and the malecon past the cliff divers. Easy pleasant walk with lots to see along the way.

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico

5 out of 5
What a beautiful city! Also went to Old Town, wandered along the very long malecon, had a great lunch along the river. Bus service easy to use and very cheap.

Disembarkation

Well organized.

I think the High Pressure selling is normal on the cheaper cruises like these (but have not been on the upscale type to know). 149 days until we board for Alaska.
