Review summary

It was a last minute getaway for us - we needed it! Great embarking/disembarking from San Diego. Loved having a few days at sea to enjoy the ocean and the ship's offerings. We weren't interested in any excursions (done them before), just the amenities and shore visits. Hendra (steward) was especially attentive and responsive and delightful personality.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Main dining room was terrific - beautiful and the service was impeccable. Food was very good. Buffett was very good food, just a little difficult to navigate. Need to clarify starting points for service lines.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
Fitness center was excellent. Pools were good, a little small, crowded (couldn't find recliners available) and the rolling seas made it interesting.

Entertainment

Didn't attend - only one Test Kitchen session, which was interesting but not hands on.

Children's Programs

No Children

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
All were extremely friendly and authentically wanting to do whatever they could. Especially our stewards Hendra and Endra - they were fabulous.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
For the size and age it is excellent. Definitely clean and maintained.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
Of course would like it bigger, but it was comfortable and very functional and very clean, thanks to Hendra and Endra. 4 stars instead of 5 due to noise from above deck and ship motion making noises in cabin - had trouble sleeping.

Ship tip

Don't get a cabin right below the buffett or any activity area!

Ports of call

San Diego, California

5 out of 5
Live there (Carlsbad) and love it!

Cabo San Lucas, Mexico

3 out of 5
Unless you go fishing or golfing, not much to offer in town. Did not do an excursion.

Mazatlan, Mexico

5 out of 5
Even though the ship terminal was very industrial, the walk into town was delightful - the volunteers along the way are fantastic! And the town, cathedral and mercado were beautiful and delightful. Food on the beach was great - best ceviche we've ever had at El Fish Market on Olas Altas #3.

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico

4 out of 5
Central town and beaches are beautiful and fun. Take a taxi; don't try to walk from the ship - traffic, noise and pollution are terrible.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Incredibly smooth and quick. The pick up arrangement on the pier in San Diego is terrific!
