Review summary
Great cruise line if your looking for few kids and a quiet trip. Very disappointing in terms of service (staff poorly trained and not professional, felt like imported temp staff to cover areas, not trained experts in their respective areas). Food was average to poor. Buffet was actually better than most, just closed very early an pretty much had the same exact thing every day. Specialty restaurants - where we ate pretty much every night - were a complete joke. No waiters - I would stay "staff" that would point to the menu and show you how to order. Food was buffet quality in some cases, with a few inconsistent great items.
Overall, I would just say the cruise line was nothing special and did not come across as "customer first" and pride in excellence. We have cruised Princess, Royal Caribbean, and Celebrity. All were better. We liked the fewer kids, but it felt like a Holiday Inn on water.
We did have a nice suite. Great room - very spacious and well designed. Very disappointing that it came with pretty much nothing extra unlike other cruise lines- drinks in the VIP lounge were not even covered on the drink plans, so was cheaper to walk up many decks for wine rather than in the lounge. No special services of any kind - waited over an hour for a table for 2 the first night. No special areas for sitting on sea days (good luck getting one of the very, very few lounge chairs on the pool decks). Lots of tables on the deck in the smoking section available.
Entertainment, which I will say has pretty much become awful on just about all the cruise lines, set a new low. It was a running joke in the casino how bad the lounge singers were.
Just overall, I would say the cruise felt like it was run by people who simply did not care and did not have any pride in standards. It would have been very easy to have done many things much better.

Ship tip
If you like wine with dinner and/or better quality wines - DO NOT purchase the Elite beverage package. No discounts or credits are given toward any wine purchases so you are paying double. Book things VERY early - it is a small boat and it has very few upgrades/perks - so things may be gone.
