Enchantment of the Seas

8 Night Southeast Coast & Perfect Day (Baltimore Roundtrip)

Sail date: March 03, 2023

Ship: Enchantment of the Seas

Traveled as: Couple

Reviewed: 1 year ago

Review summary

Like size of ship, easy access in Baltimore. Hopefully next time food can improve with selection and food temperature. Hopefully cleanliness of cabin will be better. College breakers were on board from a couple of the colleges- I didn’t see any issues. They looked like they were having a good time.

Embarkation

3 out of 5
Crowded- had 1130 time slot and terminal was packed. Asked where Diamond line was and was sent to another line where worker said we were told wrong by the other worker but could stay there ( line was long there too). Took about 15-20 minutes to get scanned and then to counter

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
MDR food was lukewarm at best. Got the steak one night and the garlic butter would not even melt on it. Not a fan of the new menu either. Only had their delicious cheesecake offered on one night. Went to windjammer one night for dinner and food was not even lukewarm ( venue just opened up so we thought the food would be hot but it was not). Lunch in windjammer was ok- hamburgers and nachos. Day 8 they had the workers serving delicious desserts in the windjammer for lunch. Breakfast: omelette station good idea to order and have it delivered to your table - the first two omelettes were good but after that not good- either order was incorrect, too much of the ingredients or browned omelette ( cooked too much). Fried eggs ready to serve yourself-however either cooked too hard/brownish or crispy. Bacon paper thin.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
Plenty of on board activities.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
Comedian preformed two shows was good. Juggling act- not so good. Had a show “oh what a night tribute “ Four seasons tribute-was good. Too cold and windy to watch outdoor movies.

Service and Staff

3 out of 5
Staff was cordial however I feel that about half of the staff is new and still do not feel comfortable in their role yet. Polite but not overly friendly like on the Grandeur. Actually got a drink in the boleros (Havana Special) and was really sour, a couple of minutes later the bartender brought another drink over of the same kind with a complete different look and said she didn’t mix the first one right so I appreciated her honesty in making the first drink wrong. I believe a lot of the staff are in the learning process of becoming Royal Carribean Staff. Room steward never talked to us long enough to give us his name, but did wave to us from down the hall when he saw us.

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
General bathrooms were very clean. However stateroom was ok- not as clean as in previous cruises. On the first night noticed yellow stains on the sheets- they were changed the second day. On the last day, there were red dots on the pillowcase which of course I didn’t see until the morning. I’ve never had any issues like that in the pass. On my next cruise I will thoroughly check the sheets earlier in the day. Some of the drawers weren’t clean as there was some debris in 2 of the drawers.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Adequate size for 2. Not the cleanest either ( see previous comment)

Ship tip

Small ship, easy to walk, wouldn’t recommend for kids

Ports of call

Charleston, South Carolina

Nice port but lots of shopping. Did have a fantastic lobster roll at Masons

Nassau, Bahamas

5 out of 5
Did excursion beach and sightseeing. Went to beach at the “Poop Deck”. Was beautiful but water had a deep shelf in it that I didn’t go in the water.

Port Canaveral, Florida

3 out of 5
Had a great Uber driver- went to Cocoa Beach pier. Nothing special been there many times

Freeport, Grand Bahama Island

3 out of 5
Just hung out at port. In my opinion didn’t do a beach as I feel they are too rocky.

Disembarkation

4 out of 5
OMG I never saw so many people taking their luggage off the ship with them. I talking huge luggage bags not overnight size luggage. Once they got off it wasn’t too bad.

If food temps are not corrected will start seeing ramp up of food poisoning cases

Thank you for sharing your experience. I read several posts regarding food temperature. We experienced some of this on our last cruise. I would thought it would have been corrected.
