Review summary

Overall, we had a good time but probably won't do this cruise again. Next time we'll take a road trip to visit the Northeast.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
I've been a few cruises this year and this was the first time that the time slots were enforced.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
We eat only in the Windjammer and the food was good but not outstanding.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
Always seemed to be something going on and everyone seemed to be having a great time.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
We enjoyed all the nightly main theater shows and the various music venues throughout the ship.

Service and Staff

Cabin / Stateroom

Really liked this cabin. Low and close to midship. Never felt the ship moving. One morning we looked out the window and dolphins were racing the ship there. Shower a bit small and the window needs replacing.

Ship tip

Make sure you have packed your patience. We had a slower, older crowd and sometimes getting somewhere was a game.

Ports of call

Bar Harbor, Maine

5 out of 5
Best of the ports. Eat at Geddy's but you may have to wait 20 minutes or so. Good shopping. There is a walking path along the shoreline which offers some good views of the harbor.

Newport, Rhode Island

Didn't get off the ship. Passengers were given tender tickets and our number was so high we wouldn't have tendered until 1pm. All aboard time was 4:30pm so that wouldn't have been enough time to walk the Cliffs Walk.

Saint John, New Brunswick

5 out of 5
Walked around the port. The City Market was so crowded. Got a beaver tail at the shipping container shopping area. A few places were closed because it was Thanksgiving in Canada but it didn't really affect us.

Boston, Massachusetts

5 out of 5
Took an Uber to the Boston Commons and then walked the Freedom Trail. Got lunch at Quincy Market. Finished the trail at the Bunker Hill Monument the Ubered back to the ship. Boston was crowded but we had a good time and got some great pictures.

Portland, Maine

5 out of 5
Did our own excursion. Got a donut at The Holy Donut. I didn't think it was worth the half hour wait. Ate at Holyroller Lobster. Good food. This is a good shopping port.

Baltimore, Maryland

We just flew in and flew out.

It’s a shame you missed Newport, it’s a spectacular port. We loved Canada New England. And you’re right about Bar Harbor. We did a 4 mast schooner, Cadillac Mountain, and had all morning to walk the waterfront path and explore the town. Wished I’d got the t shirt that says Ba-ha-ba
