Review summary

We had a great time on the Enchantment. It was fairly close to home. The ship needs a face-lift but still enjoyable. The hot tubs were difficult for the older crowd. Food was outstanding. Staff could not have been better.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Getting on the ship was a breeze but be prepared for a long wait in the parking area if you are driving to the port.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
The food was excellent. The dining room did not accept our reservation for "my time" dining so we had to eat earlier even though we had booked the reservation well in advance of the cruise....they said there were too many walk ins and they had to seat them. Why do they ask us to make a reservation then not honor it. By the way, our waiter, Raj and assistant waiter, Anup were both outstanding...they deserve recognition.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
We enjoyed the karaoke, trvia and evening entertainment events as well as the solarium during day. There was plenty to keep us busy or just relax, whichever we were wanting.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
The entertainment was exceptional.....great production show, very good program of singing one evening with some of the cast as stars, Lance Ringnald ( Olympian) did an outstanding evening show as well as a very good afternoon lecture on memory. Comedian Bruce Gold was very good .....2 different shows. The sta

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
The staff was outstanding. They couldn't be more courteous, caring and helpful. We found the staff all over the ship to be fantastic.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
The cabin was tired and needed a face lift. Overall I would rate the cleanliness and maintenance of the ship a B......definitely needs some attention. This was our 33rd

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
This was our 33rd cruise and the smallest cabin ever. It was an outside view cabin (we usually do a balcony) but with the itinerary we didn't think we needed a balcony (and we were correct). We just didn't expect the cabin to be so small.....it is an old ship with smaller cabins then the newer ships. It was, however, more than adequate.

Ship tip

If you are arriving by auto and plan to park at the port (very convenient) be prepared to wait a very long time to unload your luggage. We waited in a line for over 45 minutes. The embarkation process went smoothly and quickly.

Ports of call

Saint John, New Brunswick

5 out of 5
We did a private tour at a very reasonable cost.....great adventure.

Halifax, Nova Scotia

5 out of 5
We took a private tour to Peggy's Cove and the Swiss Air Memorial as well as visiting several towns on Nova Scotia. Again reasonably priced and very well done.

Disembarkation

Off the ship by 8:30....smooth operation.
