Enchantment of the Seas

5 Night Bermuda (Baltimore Roundtrip)

Sail date: April 30, 2022

Ship: Enchantment of the Seas

Traveled as: Singles/Friends

Review summary

Shame on Bermuda for taking advantage of tourism and tourist by charging an application fee for all visitors. Same information was required to board the ship. Bermuda health department not set up adequately to answer questions and certainly could have developed a more user-friendly application form. Upset passengers would not spend money import. Shopkeepers upset with this procedure. Price paid for cruise is supposed to include for taxes and fees yet this fee was not included

At last minute Bermuda issued a required visitor travel application and charged an additional $40. Information they requested was already required by the cruise ship. Rccl could have shared the information with Bermuda to avoid travelers paying an additional $40 fee for the same information. Bermuda visitor application extremely user unfriendly and wait time to speak to someone about correctly filling it out was almost 2 hours. Also phone number listed on application is an international call so I was charged $127 unknowingly for the call. Shame on Bermuda for taking advantage of potential visitors to the island.

Decided not to spend my tourist dollars in Bermuda since I feel they were taking advantage of me by charging a visitor application fee for the same information they should have gotten from the cruise ship. All they were asking for in the application was proof of covid vaccination and proof of antigen test 2 days before. Exactly same information ship required

You just saved me some money as I won’t be booking an excursion there

I’m pretty sure the Bermuda Travel Authorization is all Bermuda and has nothing to do with the cruise lines. If you arrive in Bermuda by air, you have to complete the authorization and pay the fee too. $40 is a small fee to pay to enjoy a beautiful island.

Totally agree with you about the money grab by Bermuda. No other countries are doing this. But it is not the cruise lines fault. If they refused to sail to Bermuda, then everyone would complain their cruise was cancelled. Was on Enchantment several weeks ago, and it took two hours to board. Your appointment is your arrival time, not boarding time. I am sailing on Carnival Legend to Bermuda 22 May from Baltimore. Hope you enjoyed the cruise otherwise.
