Service and Staff

3 out of 5
Giving this one a 3 because our room steward was good and the casino staff was good. Rest of the staff seemed bored and put out. Something I’m not used to. We’ve always cruised Carnival before and their staff (every ship we’ve been on to date) is always friendly and seem to be willing to go out of their way to make our experience the best it can be.

Ship Quality

This was the most unkept ship I’ve ever seen. Tears in the carpets, rust running into the pools and paint was chipping everywhere. 2 outlets in the entire room, refrigerator was worn out and the beds so uncomfortable I came home exhausted from the lack of sleep.

Cabin / Stateroom

Small, small, small!!! I can not imagine trying to date get one more person in this room (there was only 2 of us). The beds were not even full sized twins, and by far the most uncomfortable bed I’ve ever tried to sleep on. We had to push our twin beds together to be able to walk by the end. I’ve been on 7 other cruises and have always enjoyed a nap every day, but not on this one

Ship tip

Book a different ship.

I had never stayed the night before, we usually drive down the morning of. I was pleasantly surprised by all the shopping and dining options.

Disembarkation

We had paid for the “Key” package which was supposed to get priority disembarkation, we waited over an hour to get off.

Ummm. I’ve cruised Carnival, Princess, Norwegian and Royal. 2 outlets is the norm.

I’m always amused when people say a 84,000 GT ship that holds 2,400 passengers is too small. It’s a good thing many didn’t cruise in the 80s and early 90s. The first ships I cruised on were 16,000 - 30,000 GT and held 400 - 650 passengers and we thought they were huge.
