Review summary

For our first cruise in 16 years, we had a great time. There is lots of entertainment on the ship, and you can stay as busy or relaxed as much as you want. GREAT staff on board! We made lots of great family memories with the kids. This was their first cruise, and both say they would do it again.

Embarkation

Other than the fact it was raining, the entire check-in process was very smooth and quick. We were on board before we knew it!

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
My Fair Lady dining room was awesome! We had great service and loved our waiters. We requested the same table each night because we enjoyed them so much!

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
We enjoyed the pool on the deck, many trivia games, comedy and music shows every night in the Orpheum Theater. My kids enjoyed the rock climbing and having their own teen place to hang out with the friends they met on board.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Music everywhere we went was great! The MC James was so entertaining with everything he did. Comedy acts had us laughing so hard we were crying. Bobby, the cruise Director, was hilarious and always made you feel welcomed and have fun.

Children's Programs

4 out of 5
My teenagers enjoyed the kids area and arcade. They liked the fact they had their little own place to "hide-out". They enjoyed the trivia games held throughout the cruise as well.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
As I mentioned, our waiters in the dining area were AWESOME! Our room steward was like a ghost. We only saw him on the first day and last day, but he kept our room spic and span. Cruise Director was AWESOME with everything he did!! James, part of the cruise entertainment, was so funny and everywhere you went. The singers and dancers were great and very entertaining!

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
There were a few places you could tell the ship had a little age, but it was very clean. It was very easy to get from one area of the ship to the other. Even during the large crowd events, there was always lots of room.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
The only thing I didn't like was the size of the shower or how the curtain did not keep the water in. I understand they have to fit a lot in a small space, but the design of the shower area was lacking. Other than that, you don't spend much time in your room except for sleeping, so my family of 4 was comfortable.

Ports of call

Galveston, Texas

4 out of 5
We live in Texas, so we only drove in and parked and hopped on the ship. We did not do anything in Galveston.

Progreso (Merida), Mexico

5 out of 5
We did do an excursion in Progreso. Easy transport from the ship to our excursion check-in. Our tour guide to Chichen Itza Myan Ruins was awesome and well informative and funny. The provided lots of cold water which we needed since it was so hot!

Cozumel, Mexico

5 out of 5
We did an excursion on a catamaran that took us out and snorkeled. The waters were a little rough, but it was still very enjoyable. Our guides were very funny and entertaining, and made sure you were enjoying your time. Of course, the Cozumel beach was so beautiful.

Disembarkation

4 out of 5
Getting off the ship was very easy and quick as well. A little bit of a line, but it continued to move, and we were off and back to our car in no time.
