Next time I will book Disney. These cruises are not all inclusive. Watch for staggering hidden costs.

Review summary

Next time I will cruise with Disney. Royal Caribbean markets their cruises for as little as $289 per person. What they don't tell you is all the extras they add drives the price of the cruise up to a ridiculous price. For example if you want soft drinks you must buy a drink package. If you want photos you must pay an extra $180 per cabin. It gets costly. The cruises are not all inclusive. And the on board credit they promise you will not be given to you. When they promise onboard credits it is a lie.

Ship tip

We were promised a $25 ship credit for each cabin. We had four cabins and no one got their $25 ship credit. It is a small amount but the fact that we were misled was frustrating. Don;t buy the photo package. They charged my son $180 for the photo package and then after we were on board he was told teh photo package was $180 per cabin and to get all his photos he would have to pay $720. They refused to make good on this and refused to honor the ship credit.

You will find that there is a charge for does on the cruiselines. I don't know about Disney. They are way too expensive. RC is a great cruisline. You fo not need a soda package. You can get a glass of soda for a price at any of the bar stations. Depending how much dodayou drink in a day, the package may be worth the price.

I’ll give that fake review five stars I bet you they’ve never been on a cruise ship keep on cruising or in this case take a cruise and then write a review I love to cruise

We have cruised RCCL and Carnival and have always received our onboard credits.

I just paid $268 for a 5 night cruise (including taxes and port charges). Even if I buy a drink package, the all-inclusive photo package, and almost anything else they could charge me for it still wouldn't amount to the price I paid for a 5 night cruise on Disney. Not even close.

@disfan2003 Yes, you are absolutely right, thank you for the correction! It’s been a while since I’ve been on a Disney ship, and soda is included with meal service and they do have self-serve soda dispensers. Do I remember correctly that they will charge for soda if you get it at a bar?

Have just been on our first RC cruise. Water, tea, coffee available free round the clock. Juice free at breakfast. Didn't buy any drinks packages just bought individual bottles of wine at dinner. Didnt buy photo package but just bought 1 for €20. Didnt go to any specialty restuarants just MDR and solarium bistro plus promenade cafe which were all included. Went to excellent shows and had a great time without all the extras.

Mark71mark, Disney does include soda in the price, however, since the ship is twice the price of RCL, it's not exactly "free" 😉

This is kind of a misleading review. I don’t believe RCCL has ever advertised any of its’ fleet as “all-inclusive”. Soda and photos are not free, in the same way they are also not free on Disney’s 4 ships either (excluding cruiseline status perks). I’m pretty sure you are not forced into purchasing a soda package to buy a soda, they are available individually, a la carte, but are expensive. The complimentary beverages are limited, but in addition to what you mentioned, also include coffee, lemonade, punch, and various juices in the morning, similar to what Disney offers for free. Suggested daily gratuities and beverage gratuities on Disney are comparable to RCCL. Port charges vary depending on the specific docking ports, length of stay, ship size, number of passengers, etc, and are assessed to both cruise lines and the cost is passed on to the passengers. As for on-board credit, a visit to Guest Services with your proper documentation showing an owed credit should quickly resolve the issue. Granted, it should’ve been taken care of automatically, but sometimes things unfortunately slip thru the cracks. I just wanted to set the record straight, so as not to scare away future potential RCCL cruisers!

mwilmichael what Royal Caribbean ship were you on because you Don't have a cruise listed in your profile. I can't speak about the Disney cruises, never been on one or any other cruise line but Royal Caribbean. I have priced a Disney cruise before and found them to be more then twice the price of any of the other cruise lines. So you're going to pay dearly for what you get on a Disney cruise that you can bank on. Our 1st cruise on the Enchantment only cost $322 and this included port and tax fees for 4 nights. Another thing I know is the photo packages on the Oasis run $249.99 for an all photos or all Digital package. The price for both will run $324.99 and includes all Digital and Photos in the package. Your claim that Royal Caribbean doesn't honor their on board credits are not true either. Not in my case I know that for a fact. I have been on two Royal Caribbean cruises and received my on board credits both times. Once on the Enchantment and once on the Oasis. Last, you are not forced to buy anything. You can buy a drink without having to have a drink package. Also you have the choice to bring concentrated KoolAid. These comes in small bottles and several different flavors. We did this on our last two cruises. Both times it worked out just find. Hope this helps clear up some mis-information you might have received.....

They all do this. Very few are all truly all inclusive.

That's like just about any cruise line.

We always get our on board credit. And even Disney doesn't include photos. We paid $150 for a photo book on Disney.

I’ve cruised RCCL a number of times. Always been given our onboard cruise. We always buy the beverage packages as it works out more cost efficient and happy to pay it.
