Review summary
The main dining room staff at "My Fair Lady" dining hall were outstanding and just what I expected for my first cruise. Once we stepped outside the dining room, however the service fell off a cliff. Smiles were rare, ship staff (even those designated to answer questions) acted impatient and put out whenever approached with a question. The Windjammer dining area staff could barely understand English, so answering questions in a helpful or meaningful way was quite difficult for them. The proverbial "last straw" was a staff member on our Key West day which involved every single person on board (including those that were not leaving the ship) being screened by Homeland Security. We were given three different sets of instructions on where to go and what time to be there. Royal Caribbean handed us a printed sheet with specific instructions, but all morning long, instructions with times and locations were being broadcast over the load speakers. Assume that the latest instructions are the most current- right? Wrong, there were instructions printed on our excursion ticket that we were given upon boarding the ship. After I approached a staff member for help, he immediately blamed me and looked pissed, as we had missed our appointed time by 15 mins. He made a huge deal out of all the way through the ship as he escorted myself and my girlfriend and about 8 other people to the assigned screening area. Once there we literally walked into the room, up to the agent who looked at our passport and sent us on our way in 5 secs. This wasn't a problem of one or two staff members not understanding customer service. This was ship wide, therefore a training/expectation problem with Royal Caribbean. SO LONG! There are so many competitors to choose from. This was my first cruise ever, and last with R.C. P.S. Enchantment of the Seas was an absolute rust bucket. Rust stain running everywhere on the outside of the ship and on the outside decks.Embarkation

Don't ask the staff a question, ask directions or for help unless you crave surley, impatient interactions with strangers.
