Review summary

This was an opportunity to see if my wife could tolerate being on the high seas. She has a vestibular issue affecting her balance. Happy to say it worked out very positively. We know know more about likes/dislikes as we plan the next one.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Could not have been simpler. We were on the ship and in our cabin within 10/15 min. from exiting out Lyft.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
We opted to dine in Chops three out of four dinners. While the food was surprisingly good, we did find ordering from the same menu three nights in a row somewhat boring. The Enchantment is not (as it turned out) the ideal ship for meeting all our needs. That’s on us. Next time we’d look for a more exciting itinerary on a ship with several dining options.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
Great food served by a dedicated and passionate staff.

Entertainment

We’re not night people.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
No complaints whatsoever.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
Enchantment was easy to get around, well laced out, but could benefit from an updating from a upgrade. It’s looking a bit long in the tooth. Having said that, no real complaints.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
Very comfortable cabin. Lots of space and nice sized balcony. The furniture was a bit on the uncomfortable side, but the bed was great. Nice linens. Decore is a bit dated.

Ship tip

Beware of the fact that if you purchase a specialty dining package, there is really only one ‘affordable’ option: Chops, with the Chefs Tabe costing an additional $60/70/pp.

Ports of call

Nassau, Bahamas

4 out of 5
Interesting spot to see. Pretty good duty free shopping.

Cococay (Cruise Line's Private Island)

5 out of 5
Pleasantly surprised with this stop. Beaches were not as crowded as expected and the number of things to keep you busy, many.

Key West, Florida

4 out of 5
A bit touristy for my liking, but still fun to see. We took the hop on/hop off trolley. Great way to see the sights. Butterfly conservatory was outstanding.

Disembarkation

3 out of 5
Royal encountered some delays in baggage handling resulting in a 40 min delay for our group in getting our bags. Inconvenient, but not a show stopper. Barring the delay, a smooth process.
