Review summary

Nothing special about this cruise. Ocean view cabin was not ocean view, just two small portholes behind the head of the bed. Room service was not worth the money. Room was over noisy equipment so I could not sleep. Bed was hard as a rock. You could stand on the bed and there would be no indentation. One half had a pit in the middle. Drink package made finding a waiter impossible. They will avoid you like the plague. Least favorite cruise out of the 11 RCCL Cruises I have been on.

Ship was late causing long lines for boarding.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
Not impressed by room service. Often condiments were not provided or forgotten. If you have the drink packages you will have a hard time finding wait staff to get you a drink. It seems that they don’t like to get you drinks unless they are getting tipped directly. I guess they don’t get part of the prepaid gratuity. They all seem to hate it when you order and you are on a package. It was uncomfortable just asking what the drink of the day was. I only had a drink or two each day because I got tired of it.

Pool Bar

If you buy the drink package don’t expect to be able to find a waiter in the pool or solarium area. When they discover you have the drink package and they won’t get an extra tip they will not come back or feel the need to be friendly.

Service and Staff

Everyone was great except waiters around the ship who avoided you once they discover you had a drink package. Talked to customer service desk to complain about my room and was told they would call me back the next day and didn’t.

Cabin / Stateroom

I was in TBA ocean View. I paid the single supplement. I was assigned a horrible room by the anchor or propulsion or something that was so noisy at times you couldn’t talk over the noise or hear anything. The ocean view window was two small portholes at the head of the bed. They were set back so you couldn’t see out the windows unless you leaned over into the cutout while in bed. Total ripoff. Mattress was hard as a board. You could stand on it and there was no indentation. One half had a huge pit in it.

Ship tip

Cococay port will be canceled about half the time. The slightest wind and the can’t run the tinders. Don’t be surprised when you have a day at sea because it is more likely than not.

Sounds like you tried to pay the least and get the best.. usually doesn’t work that way. But I hope you enjoyed most of it.!

We always choose our own room. If you could see the ocean, you had an ocean view room.

So you booked what's called a'Guranteed Oceanview' and that's what you got. In the future pay the $10-20 extra and pick your own room.

What floor and room were you in, also forward or aft of the ship.
