Review summary

It would have been so nice if anywhere the cruise line said over 1800 college students were going to be on this cruise, so I could have made the decision if this was the best cruise for my family.  We were unable to enjoy any time by the pool, they were too loud, drunk and taking up all the seats.  Getting near the bar was impossible anywhere on the boat.  They ran up and down the halls, threw up, passed out and were uncontrollable. The were taking luggage from the hallways, knocking on random doors.  There was no where to hide.

Don't go during spring break, students are everywhere, my kids were mortified by their behavior.

It's a shame how these people acted and they are not allowed to be served any alcoholic drinks or beer if under 21. They don't know how to act like a peeson should. No shame and to get sick like what they did shows they drink way too much. Looking for attention in every way they could. Running around, banging on cabin doors and bothering people is something no one would do if they have respect for people. On My cruises I have seen kids hanging out by the cabins laughing and having a good time, but there are other places around the ship they can hang out. There are clubs for them to go to, but maybe they go or not. When I was a teen or younger, I never acted the way they do. Parents let them run around and create havoc. Kids swimming in pools for adults should never happen because kids have drowned. I'm sure you have heard of this many times. Horrible.

Just to try to clear it up, short cruises cost less than a full week, students are general ly looking for an affordable vacay so they can spend the extra on getting drinks, short cruises ne attract most First time cruisers who are fearful of getting seasick. carnival has more first time cruisers than any other cruise line, as they tend to be the lowest price....all according to CLIA , cruise line association. last year they trashed Explorer of the Seas on its last Caribbean voyage before it went across to Spain to be refurbished. I don't think RC cared, as the ship was going over empty anyway, and the crew were ripping it apart during the transatlantic. the regular passengers, meaning non students onboard were really pissed off with their behavior, same as what this person has posted here that initiated this conversation. have any of you heard of The Groove Cruise? if not, you tube it

I doubt it has anything to do with finances. But that's why I normally book cruises during dates and time frames most people don't. I normally book in the winter months for 7-15 day cruises. I've noticed the most popular cruises are the weekend deals.

Anytime you book in March you are taking a chance on spring break students. I just cruised last week and there were a lot of college age cruisers. Thankfully they were not rude.

Sorry. That post was for deboftheseas.

"With less to spend" sounds like money to me.

KiylieCrisp    8 years ago

I never said anything about money? I don't see where your getting that from gdmanely

gdman    8 years ago

WRONG, kiyieraven. We have taken several 4 day cruises and it had nothing to do with money. In fact, we have always enjoyed the cruises and did not find "a different clientele" on board.

deboftheseas    8 years ago

Just also for future cruise planners...a 3/4 night cruise attracts people with less to spend, so you can expect a different clientele on board

That why Panama City made drastic changes to laws about booze

KiylieCrisp    8 years ago

That's horrible. And I'm guessing they were high school/college students who should know better!? Smh. Even when I was in high school I wasn't like that. I would've gotten my butt handed to me even as a teenager from my parents if I acted like that. Disappointment really and further action should be taken by carnival to insure that it doesn't happen when they have people like that onboard
