Review summary

When I booked this trip on the BOGO half off sale we were told we would receive $200 on board credit and a $75 gift card when we returned.

We did not receive either one and were told it was because we booked through someone other than Royal Caribbean.

I would not recommend using this company to book anything in the future.

There is nothing worse than being misled and lied to.

Review the ship and please be reasonable

Suggest that you follow up with your booking agent. Rewards were based on $ value of cruise. Our credit was missed too but call fixed issue so cut a little slack and retread the offer as well

Outside vendor/companie/travel agents will rip you off and not make good on 'promises'... have read MANY stories here, it happens. Royal Caribbean will NEVER rip you off and will ALWAYS make good on their word. Outside companies DONT.

I don't agree about always booking with cruise line. You can do a complete fake booking on both the cruise line website and an online TA like cruise.com so you can see the bottom line cost difference. I have often found bottom line costs cheaper on the online TA plus received extra perks like free gratuities. You should always shop around.

It's always a good practice to bring any paperwork promising OBC with you on a cruise. You can then confirm it while onboard. I'm not sure why you give the ship 1 star when a TA lied to you.

Not all agency's created equal. I booked many times with vacationstogo.com, Icruise.com and through benefit program at my work. Never had anything to complain about always got a great service and some extra benefits.

BOOK THROUGH ROYAL CARIBBEAN ONLY... WAKE UP PEOPLE!

SweetGreyChaos    8 years ago

My friend and I booked through cruisesonly.com and we received the BOGO offer... I think it's unfair for you to leave a negative review about Royal Caribbean for that. Complain to the booking party... It's not he cruise lines fault...

And let me be clear, I've never purchased from cruises.com. These are just experiences with other brokers and from clients when I was a travel agent.

lauren45    8 years ago

Yes if you go on oasis, that is the way to go! Good for you and have fun 😊

cruisinforaboozin    8 years ago

Not at all. I'm just saying, that 3rd party brokers like cruises.com don't get commissions from the line to book you. They buy the rooms and resale them. They do so to make a profit. When they make promises about the obc or gift cards, it comes out of their pocket (profit) so they'll often promise those and not follow through. It can lead to a negative experience because the cruise line has no records of promises made by the broker. Does that make sense?

ashleyrumore1985    8 years ago

it should....I got top of the line everything so....we will see!!

lauren45    8 years ago

Oh well that should be even better! I'm a little jealous 😉 oasis should blow your mind lol

ashleyrumore1985    8 years ago

I'm going on oasis

lauren45    8 years ago

I would hope not? Enchantment is a fantastic ship, loved every minute of it. Cruise director Marc is the best

ashleyrumore1985    8 years ago

do you think it will be negative?

cruisinforaboozin    8 years ago

That being said, I'd love to hear about your experience AFTER your cruise.

lauren45    8 years ago

Yes definitely!!! If you felt you got a good deal that is good for you! Don't worry about what others say. Like myself and the other person commenting lol

ashleyrumore1985    8 years ago

I know...I was giving my opinion.

cruisinforaboozin    8 years ago

Ashley, we're referring to the original poster, not you

ashleyrumore1985    8 years ago

well this is my first cruise and I feel like I got a good deal and I think that is what matters!

cruisinforaboozin    8 years ago

Yup. Nobody has common sense anymore.

lauren45    8 years ago

Some people just don't get the idea of reviews. This should be posted as a review for that company, but obviously not getting obc ruined their vacation 😐 and thank you cruisinforaboozin I agree. third party companies cant have a cheaper price than the cruise line itself, because they would be paying for that extra money in order to book you. And it causes difficulties like the one this person had

cruisinforaboozin    8 years ago

And, for the record, as a former travel agent, it's ALWAYS better to book with the cruise line directly. ALWAYS.

cruisinforaboozin    8 years ago

Why are you giving a negative review for the cruise ship? Your poor experience has nothing to do with them.

lauren45    8 years ago

Interesting, but that's good for you! Every time I've booked anything (even hotels) it's advertised as cheaper on third party websites, but after the extra fees it ends up being slightly more. I booked mine through cruises.com too, they advertised as $150 cheaper but the end price came out $10 more. That's not much but we canceled and rebooked through the cruise line

ashleyrumore1985    8 years ago

not what I booked...the website was way more expensive!

lauren45    8 years ago

This sounds like a review for the company you booked through, not for Enchantment. How about a review on the ship itself! And I never see a reason to go through another company. It's always cheaper and more convenient to book directly with the cruise line (:

ashleyrumore1985    8 years ago

was it cruises.com? I just booked through them.

shayohio    8 years ago

sounds like the company you booked with lied, not RCCL.
